Hola,

I purchased a used 2015 FiST and really liking it on the whole and first time owning a turbo vehicle so I'm doing a bit of learning. Previous owner added a 'bov spacer' which goes psssshhhhht which is semi-annoying (I strongly prefer quiet cars) but I can live with it. I'm wondering what effect this has on the engine performance (if any). I'm not concerned about making additional horsepower, but would like to make the engine even more responsive at the low end. Does the BOV spacer make the engine less/more responsive? Is there a different 'bov' I can use - or even return it to stock? Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

And a second question which could be related to the first: Why is there so much rev hang? I know there's the 'emissions' reason but it sure feels like a lot. What, if anything, can I do to have the engine drop RPM faster?

You can revert to stock, hey. It does not have any impact on performance. The Mk7 fiesta did not come with a BOV, it is an aftermarket mod. The only purpose it serves is to vent air, which is done by the DV from factory. I personally also prefer quieter cars. I currently have a GFB DV+ setup with a stiffer spring, which helps the car hold a little more boost instead of venting it all out. If you are looking for more response, I would suggest a tune. Regardless of the number of mods that you have, even if your car is stock, you will feel a difference.

As for the rev hang, it could be a sticky throttle body flap. I suggest taking off your cold side boost pipe and cleaning off your throttle body flap with a soft, clean rag/cloth - ask your local parts store for a cleaner that can be used on a throttle body, spray some of it onto the cloth, and wipe it down gently. Do not spray the cleaner directly into the throttle body.

Let us know how it goes.
