Ehh, I caved in and just bought them this morning with the slight uptick in the exchange rate. I wouldn't doubt if it goes lower but they're already more than $200 cheaper than 2 years ago. I'll take it.
Let us know how they look and how the install goes! Did you buy them via Ford Parks UK or someplace else? [thumb]

How did you buy them? When I choose shipping the United States isn't an option.

I messaged them for a quote first. There was a link inside the quote to purchase.

Damn that is tempting just for the DRLs, since I'd retrofit them right away.

Not sure I wan't to go through scraping that permashit out again though.

Plus not a fan of all the chrome in there so I'd have to paint 'em.

I get why you'd black it out but why would you retrofit a headlight that's already a projector?

HIDs?

They're projectors with halogens, not HIDs. Although, apparently they're pretty bright...much better than our stockers. I don't plan on making any changes to them myself.

Do these still use H11 bulbs like the USDM lights? Halogen projectors can actually still work pretty well, the LED kit I bought from 2Stroke is designed with these types of projectors in mind.

Also how long did it take to get your quote? I submitted my request yesterday.

They use H7 for the low beams. I received the quote the next morning at like 6am EST.

You can stick an HID bulb into a halogen projector. I've been doing it for 6 years on my wife's car. Zero issues.

503, keep in mind that you can order another $20 kit from TRS that will give you the H7 collar for the 2stroke. As far as I know this will be available. Their design for the 2stroke has the bulb base and heatsink as a generic "bulb" unit and then you purchase the specific "collar" and boots for the specific bulb type your headlight requires. I think that should let us still utilize the 2 strokes even if we change bulb types. At least technically it should :)

Because a projector meant for halogens will easily be outperformed by a projector meant for HIDs. Of course you can very easily stick HIDs in there, I've done it before without issue, but they still don't compare to a proper retrofit.

Well, the headlights came in.

On one of the headlights, one of the tabs broke off. On the other headlight, there's a little screw (sort of) stuck inside it.

I (still) haven't received my quote for the headlights.

Is there another outlet I can try to get these through?

Probably, but I only tried fordpartsuk. I just used the "contact us by email" form and they sent me a quote the next morning.

Is fordpartsuk the best place to get these reliably? Also these are the best available option as far as OEM, besides retrofitting and aftermarket? I do like buying premium quality parts and I'm sure that's what fordpartsuk sells. Just want to clarify.

I am considering buying a set of these euro factory headlights. Besides the LED function, is the rest plug and play?
If you'd read the original thread on the topic, you would know the answer to this question.

Also seen here: http://fiestast.net/threads/2014-na-eu-headlight-swap-all-you-need-to-know.968/

YES, they are direct bolt in and only the LED function needs to have ANY wiring whatsoever done, and making the LED work is super duper easy, even an idiot can do it (I'm the idiot who did it, after all)
