So I was one of the lucky ones to snag one of the OA cars. I’m super stoked about it, the thing is a blast.

I’ve already put a Cobb catback and drop in AFE dry filter on it.

Next up is fitting a rear seat back with some custom cutting around the roll cage so I can fit a car seat in the back middle.

Here are some pics.

I got mine shipped all the way to Las Vegas since I attended the school in September of 2020. I got car number 19. It's awesome and fun but it seems like I got unlucky and got a more beaten up one. The exterior is amazing, the damn ford performance windshield sticker was peeled, the usb ports and front cigarette lighter didn't work, and it needs new brakes/arm bushings as they are worn. But for the price it was a steal.
Did your's come with a paper that said "No anti-freeze" in it?
A local mechanic shop of mine fixed the wiring as the wires were smashed when the ST Octane Academy installed the recaro seats. It hella saved me because I needed to update the MyFordTouch screen and without USB ports working I couldn't. Considering I kept having this damn glitch where the system would only play 15 secs of my songs and then skip them. The update fixed that. But I'm happy with it!
Let me know how the back seat installation goes, also tell me if you have regular seatbelts installed later.

so the backseat turned out great, but it’s useless because it’s not safe at all. The bar in the middle is way to close. So oh well.

I actually was supposed to get a different one and the clutch was bad so they swapped it out with one they were going to keep. So I think that’s why mine is in overall great shape in my opinion.
I’ve noticed the issue with songs skipping when playing via Bluetooth, slightly aggravating.
Yes, the guy emailed me a couple hours after I picked it up and let me know about the antifreeze. I also didn’t know they pulled the a/c lines as well.

I’m contemplating tuning it and getting an intercooler. I already threw a Cobb catback on it.

They pulled the lines from the compressor and unplugged the electrical connector on the compressor. Compressor and Condenser etc is all still there.

I just emailed about a new windshield banner and I got pointed in the direction of the guy who makes them. Shoot me a DM if you want his info. Thanks.

How many miles on it?

You can be sure that even though it was driven hard, it was properly maintained.

9500 miles. Oh yeah, I have documents with everything done to it since new. Numerous brake pads, rebuilt master cylinders, clutch, tires, a arms.

I'm a little salty that I missed these cars going up for sale. I bought a project ST a few weeks before these went on sale. Should have pulled the trigger on one but oh well. Hope you guys enjoy them.

I am wondering IF the cages installed in them meet most of the sanctioning bodies' safety specs/buildrequirements. [dunno]

Good question. Would like to see what it looks like behind the carpet inside, and underneath as well. Looks beefy based on what we can see but it's only as strong as it's weakest link. I'm personally having a cage built to SCCA regs but only because that allows the cage builder to have a target. I won't be "competing" in events.

I asked them about what specs they built the cage to, and the guy just responded that they were "custom". I'd imagine that you'd need to have a qualified person inspect and certify it to run.

Also a random thought - did the school ever register these cars? Did they get sold just now as new and are covered under warranty? Would be interesting to see someone run a VIN by a dealer and see what they say about it.

I pulled back the carpet in the rear and it is welded, not bolted. That’s the extent of how much I looked into it though.

They bought them new. I had someone find me the window sticker, so I have that. Mine is registered and street legal. 👍🏻
