Front end suspension clunk

i can't figure it out. no abnormal play in any axis with this front left side. took time to remove cowl and check torque on mounting nuts, and they're fine too. my friend keeps telling me to take the strut out, pull it apart, and put it back together. i'm ready to throw b6s in

Figured it out.
My new KYB strut mounts were toast from the start. I also didn't get washers to go underneath them.
I ended up swapping in my friend's OLD motorcraft mounts (might have had 80k miles on them), and that fixed the issue.
I wish I could post a video here, but it's just too large of a file size.

Interesting, so you placed a washer in between the shaft shoulder and the bottom of the strut mount?

Yes.
Previously, there was not one there. But, that metal piece in the strut mount was moving around freely, like the entire mount was destroyed to begin with.
