Got tired of my little budget 6" Bazooka tube, upgraded

Backstory: I bought a 6" Bazooka tube for my previous car as it was a sedan and space was at a premium. I just wanted a little more bass. 6" subwoofer in an amplified tube with a 100 watt amp inside.

Yesterday's Events: I upgraded... a lot. I wanted A LOT more bass, so I went with this bad mutha:

Then came the issue of it sliding around. I purchased 4x 3" corner braces, drilled holes through the (hollow, as it turns out) cargo shelf, used 2" long #10 machine screws, then secured the other size with 4x drilled out electrical panel backings, some washers, and nylon locking nuts. It's now very snug. And it bumps. Oh lawdy does it bump. The downside: I lost about 75% of my trunk space. Worth it.

Beautiful system man! You're welcome to it, it took me a few trips to Home Depot before I found what worked best. The only thing this may not prevent is lift, ie: hitting a bump at speed, causing the box to hop. It's pretty snug though, so it might hold it down. If I find it to be a nuisance, there are 2x holes in each corner brace which I can drill a hole and fill with a screw, which will certainly hold it down. I'm just a little hesitant to do that unless completely necessary as I want the box to be removable quickly.

While were showing our subs....

I tried to remove the spare tire from my car when it was new just to check things out and noted I could get it out without letting all the air out. So in went my plug kit, out went the tire, in with my 8"JL setup. Best part it is completely hidden and I can use my trunk lid in the high or low position.

It doesnt over power the stock system just adds a touch of low. I can remove it less then a minute. Thanks!

I love how you mounted the amp underneath the floorboard. I was thinking of doing something exactly like that but then I went and had bestbuy (I know, don't hate me, I had no time and didn't feel like installing it) and they did it this way for me:

It worked out really nice and the kicker did its job admirably. The material of the box fit perfectly with the interior of my SES. Sadly after the accident I traded the car in for the ST. However, I kept the amp and sub because I wanted to transfer it to the ST. My issue now is that I have to get it installed again and the kicker sub doesn't match the car. Darn yellow color clashes. So I'll probably sell it and find something more fitting to do a custom job.

I would love to do Fiberglass or something like we did on my fathers Volvo V50
