Hey everyone! My name's Duncan and I'm down in central AL. As of Friday I'm the owner of a molten orange 2015 Fiesta ST.

I just moved out of my 2007 VW Rabbit. She'd been a great car for me for the last 7 years but had begun to show her age a bit. I knew I wanted to trade up to a new car sometime in the next year. I really had my eye on a VW GTI and had even taken one for a test drive. The little FiST was also under consideration. I called up the local dealer and they just happened to have one on the lot. It was bound for another dealership out of state but the buyer had cancelled. So I went to take a look at it. During the test drive I decided I wanted one. Not just any one, but this particular one. So I got it!

Options on the car: molten orange paint, rado wheels, molten orange Recaros, nav/premium sound, protection package.

I was sad to see Jessica go (please tell me somebody gets the name), but I have to say that I absolutely love this little car. I have no regrets about choosing it over the GTI. Now I just have to get past the break-in period and then I can see what she can REALLY do :D

Welcome! Love how molten orange looks just like red from certain angles. Really cool color. Congrats!

Now that I've been in the car for just over a month and am about 300mi past the end of break-in, I think it is time to update this post.

With the break-in period over, I can say that I am completely in love with this car. In fact, the car has a name now: Sriracha! I've been enjoying corners from day 1 when traffic and road conditions permitted (the break-in procedure never said anything about being gentle to the suspension ;-) ). Now I have also gotten to enjoy the straights, both going and stopping. Sriracha has some fairly significant "giddy up go!" And dat exhaust note. The "hurry up stop!" is quite impressive too. Needless to say, I find myself driving around with a stupid grin on my face quite a bit.

Sriracha impresses in another way too: the first tank of "drive it like I stole it" yielded 29.5mpg. That's nearly tied with my all-time record in the Rabbit. And it took no A/C, gentle throttle input, early shifts, and driving at or below the posted speed limit to achieve the Rabbit record. Needless to say, this tank was much more fun!

How close are you to Montgomery? I'm from there, but I'm only home occasionally as I'm in the military.

Update: Just had the car's first oil change last weekend. It's running on full synthetic now as it should have been in the first place. All is still well; still loving the car.
