I didn't run a catch can for the first 70k miles. Routine checking of charge pipes, found more oil in them than I'd like so I got a catch can. 3k miles later, about 1 tbsp of oil. I'm not terribly worried about it caking on the valves or causing knock, I just don't want that nasty shit in my charge pipes because it's annoying to pull off a hose and find oil. That said I'm installing aux fuel this weekend and removing my occ in the process.
What catch can? I went hpfp and injectors so I might be interested.

Are you removing it because with aux fuel you no longer need it?

Not to hijack the thread, but I'm busy building my own catch can setup. How can I get the stock PVC pipe fittings off of the stock PVC pipe to use them on the new lines for the catch can? Do I need the clips or can I just use a hose and a hose clip?

I just built my system. I was able to use a razor blade and carefully cut the plastic hose off of the fittings. Wasn't a problem.

I also built my own system. Went to my local racing parts company, bought the tubing and universal catch can and went to a hardware store for the hose clamps and 1x blanking cap as it was a 3 port catch can system. After some spirited driving I have noticed any issues with it. Happy with the results and gonna do the intake side too after I’ve seen some people locally finding oil in their induction piping
