...I wanted to drop in and say Hi. I just picked up a new Oxford White Fiesta ST yesterday, and my wife and I love it. We traded in my 2010 MINI Cooper S, and I think we gained a great deal in the exchange, and at a much lower price. I was attracted to the ST due to several factors; small size (I'm accustomed to a MINI, after all), performance, appearance, dealership near home, etc. In moving to the Fiesta, I gained two doors, a real spare tire (rather than a can of goo in the MINI), Recaros, and no further worries about such niceties as timing chain failures, coolant leaks, oil leaks, yadda yadda. We got a very good deal from Pundmann Ford in St. Charles MO, and we're looking forward to years of enthusiastic motoring! I'm 59 years old, and am planning to retire next year, which was another prompt to replace the MINI now instead of later.

I've been something of a petrolhead my whole life, and have owned a 1978 MG Midget for 20 years. We're thrilled to add the ST to the stable!

Cheers all,

FieSTa Blanca

By the way, my wife just called from home... she heard back from our auto insurance rep, and found that coverage for the new ST will be cheaper than it was for our 5-year-old Cooper S.

So - another good reason to buy a FiST! [cheerleader]

My Fist replaced a 2013 BRG JCW with factory Recaros and this to me is all around a better car. My car with 30,000 miles had all kinds of squeaks and rattles as well as a few mechanical issues which developed over the 45,000 I had it. It was a cool car and it got a lot more attention then the Fist. I swear the Fist is quicker as well and like you, I enjoy about $300 cheaper insurance every 6 months. Enjoy the car.

Welcome! Nice to see you still have your MG...I used to club race a 1960 MGA MANY years ago. As they say...I should have kept it!

I have an ox white as well. Love it. Thought long and hard about getting a clubman s with 6spd... Reliability issues scared me off from that though.

My uncle has 3 MGs. One of which he swapped in a GM 3.1 ltr v6 with efi and a full header back exhaust and a 5spd. That's a good little car.

Boombots - I had a friend who fitted a Camaro V6 in his Midget, which he autocrossed with some success. I rode in it once... felt like the engine grabbed the MG by the scruff of the neck and threw it around. Great fun! Here 'tis:

Here's my Midget - just a bit tamer:

Yep. Cool little cars no doubt. I love British stuff, especially bikes, BSA and trimuph stuff for example. Wouldn't mind an old bike, maybe an mg or old beetle to tinker and redo. I just finished an f150 so I'm looking for a new project.

I've noticed this as well when I went online to my insurance carrier... I believe this is because technically the Fiesta ST is a station wagon because of its hatchback-ness. Generally station wagons are cheaper to insure than an average car/truck.
