Headlight Switch Beeps

Hi All!

New fiesta owner (~1 month) I don't know why I did this but I got home yesterday and switched the engine off as you do, I was testing my high beams and noticed that with the engine off when I pull the high beam switch I hear a beep - but I can't for the life of me figure out what it does - can anyone here shine a light?

when the ignition is off and you hit the high beams. that beep sound is a feature that keeps the lights on for a certain amount of time. long enough for you to get into the house at night. then the lights shut back off.
