Traded in my 2014 Fiat Abarth for a '16 FiST a little over a week ago. Back in late '14, it was time to get rid of my R53 Mini and had been considering a FiST or the Abarth as a replacement. I loved the Mini but at 90k (the last 20k of that being NYC driving + several track days) I was just getting sick of spending my weekends fixing it. Ended up getting the Abarth and just never fell in love with it like I had the Mini. I searched far and wide, but at the time I was purchasing, I only found 1 FiST with Recaros within 500 miles. After calling and confirming with the dealer that the car was there and still available, I took the 1hr+ drive from NYC to go take a look at it. I get there only to find that the car had been sold (the day before apparently by a different salesguy). While I was sulking out of the dealership entrance, I spotted the FiST in the rear parking lot so decided I might as well take my first peek at one in person. As I was walking over to it, a dealership employee gets there first and hops in, starts it up, and peels out in front of me. Needless to say, I wasn't buying a FiST that day... so I left and went to the Fiat dealer, where I was treated very well and got a screaming deal on a leftover '14 model. Despite the pleasant dealer experience, I never warmed up to the Fiat and after switching jobs about 9 months ago to one that required even more driving, I decided it was time to trade in the Fiat and get what I wanted in the first place.

This time around, there were plenty of cars available, but I found the exact one I wanted about 200 miles away in VA. After working out an incredible deal, my girlfriend and I hopped in the car and made the 4hr trip down to Koons Ford in Sterling, VA. Given my last experience with a Ford dealer, I was a bit nervous that the dealer would pull something, but that turned out to be a needless worry. I couldn't be any happier with how I was treated and the deal I got on my new Fiesta ST.

Cheesy dealership photo:

So far I've put about 600 miles on the car and already love it. Despite my girlfriend's initial reservations about buying a car named Fiesta, she's also come around to it... though she does keep telling people we got a free year of Tacos with the purchase [screwy]

I really haven't been much of a brand loyalist over the years, but Fords to hold a special place in my heart as my first car was a Ford and I've owned several others since. Still have that first car so now that I own two, I guess I can say I'm a Ford guy.

My other baby as she went off for a 4.6 dohc/tr-3650 swap:

Cheers,
Jason

Thanks guys! I'm looking forward to both driving and being a member of this forum. Right now I don't foresee too much in the way of mods as I'd like to retain the warranty without too much hassle, but I think at the least this is where I'm headed:
- Cobb tune
- rmm
- euro projectors (buddy of mine in Germany has already found me a used set)
- minor interior upgrades (got a deadpedal, mustang shift knob, and weathertech mats, but have been in touch with redlinegoods about a possible steering wheel wrap to go along with their shift boot and armrest)
