Help getting clutch sensor back in

Had some power cable installed through the firewall hole behind the clutch pedal and the sensor was knocked out and I am having one hell of a time trying to get it back in as there's just very little space. Wondering if anyone has tackled this before and has any tips. It's the black one on the top left of the pedal assembly.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry I did not see this until just now.

Depending on the switch type, normally open or normally closed you could wire a jumper across the plug or leave it unplugged with no jumper to make it look like the clutch is always in until you can get the switch back in place.

This works on most cars but these newer ones might have an issue with some programming and cause a different issue with it.

Hope you got it sorted out by now buddy.

Rick

Yeah, the AP shows it at 50% clutch pos. The car is under power as well but I am taking it easy until I can get it into the dealer. Just contacted the Carson dealer this morning to get it in for the 10k service as well as snap this thing back in.

Called the local Ford dealer and their Trans guy is backed up by 4 weeks. I'm going to go ahead and put myself on their books just in case but will continue to fiddle with it and rip up my hands. lol

We will be back in Carson in a week or less and I will do it for free, well maybe a few cold brews:)

If it does not work out then I will buy the beer.

Absolutely, Rick! Just drop me a list of your favs. ;>

In the mean time, I think I have come up with a pretty good temporary solution I will be trying tonight. I'm going to epoxy an L bracket to the top of the assembly and angle it to point to the back of the finger that sticks out for the second sensor. I can then use a zip tie to mount the orphaned sensor to the other side of the new bracket. The sensor can be easily removed only leaving a small bracket that will not interfere with anything else under the dash.

There are two sensors on the clutch. Each sensor only reads 50% of position. 1 is 50-100 and 2 is 0-50. (2014 FiST)
1. Black housing and white switch. Sits facing the driver on the backside of the clutch pedal but lower than the pivot point and on the right.
2. Black housing and black switch. Sits facing towards the ground on the top of the clutch, above the pivot point and to the left.

With the plug just hanging wide open, zero depress, AP logs Clutch% at 50.
- Notes: The car starts as normal. Light driving has a huge lack of power and you can feel the ECU bump the turbo up under 3 secs when it figures out 50% is now 'normal'. WOT is down to 18psi no matter what tune. All I have are Tune+ and OE AP's. Both AP's and Tune+ are hitting FFS at 5k rpm due to the 50% forcing a 5k fuel cut limiter that jerks the car around like a mofo.

With the plug tapped off strong, and my the clutch fully depressed.
- Notes: The car tried to start like an untunned carburetor. The crank moved, fuel got dumped and I swear I heard a single spark.
