When I tap the steering wheel the interior lights go on. Anyone know why?

Actually Tap on your Dash also...just to see if it also illuminates the Interior. If not I would say its a short in the steering wheel..... Possibly a bad ground? what's the mileage and year ? If its under 3yrs and 36k...Time to make an appt. with a ferd dealer.

I see the car only has 24k miles.
The problem may be in ignition switch and vibration is just being transmitted to the dash as the steering does not have that function.
I agree with TyphoonFiST, see your dealer if you can.
