The most important things to consider with the fiST are:
it has a pretty rough ride, especially on crappy roads, quite jarring.
Also, the Recaro seats are very tight with major bolstering almost like a race seat, so make sure you fit in it well, or it will end up being a torture seat.
The gear shift is a little low and a reach for many drivers so see if you can live with it.
Since you are from across the pond, I would look to rent one for a day or two, just to see if you could live with it.
The interior has a lot of cheap, hard plastics kinda low rent, but if you can live with those it is a very enjoyable car to drive, especially on twisty roads.
If you don't plan on driving it aggressively, hitting the twisties or the occasional track day you might be better off in something else.
