Hood Paint (Lost chips of paint)

I had lots of paint chips like everyone else here. However, my paint started to not only chip, but also flake off in really big pieces (the size of nickels and dimes).
Took it to Ford, they got a regular piece of scotch tape and stuck it over one of the paint chips. When more paint came off the car as they removed the tape (again, regular scotch tape) they accepted the warranty claim and repainted the front of my FiST.
