If my ST ever needs a new body for all the parts I have on my car, this would be it....

those body lines look a lot like the "leak" that came out about the 2nd gen ST.

I like and respect your position on this, makes a lot of sense, build what works for you no matter what others have done, that is a sign of true independent thinking or just great logic, or both:)

Wait...what? They aren't bringing the new 2 here (no, I don't give a **** about the Scion version). I had the last gen 2 and lived it. Was really looking forward to the new one but was wondering why I hadn't seen one driving around...

I'll just leave this here.

It stupidly silly as a business plan, but at least it would solve the rear legroom issue.

But lift it, add plastic cladding, roofbars, tire print graphics, call it the Ford Fiesta XR, Ford Ecosport, Ford Fiesta Tuareg, Ford Fiesta RX. Show a commercial with an activelifesytle couple with a dog driving it around a lake.
Profit.

If I still lived in the Bronx, I might take u up on that offer. Thanks btw.
My brothers second car is a 1988 civic ef hatch (his daily is a 2009 civic si supercharged). Was running good until recently. We think it may just be a fuel pump relay, but you're right, they are cheap as dirt to maintain and fun to cruise in. Even with the gutless D series motor

Yeah, I love the EF body style. They were slow in stock form, but just about everything was slow in 1988. For instance as per Car and Driver the 1988 corvette hit 0-60 in 5.6 seconds and the quarter mile in 14.3 with a trap speed of 93 mph. That's what 245hp got you in 1988. So to us (EF Civic) it's slow, but back in the day, not so much. The one I'm looking at has a d15b vtec rated at 130hp, so it should be noticeably faster than stock.

Talking about cars being slow in 88, in 90 I bought a new Camry sedan, only had it a year, 50k miles put on it in that time crossing Washington State back and forth most every weekend....It was super rare, never in magazines, V6 5spd not even listed in the brochures, etc....just the automatic. It had sat on the dealer lot for months, nobody was interested, I got it for $13k and loved it, super sleeper look, took off the badges, lowered it a bit, window tint, kept it quite. l do not recall the weight but I think around 2750 lbs, 225 HP, I could run with the IROC Z, Mustang SVO, Turbo Coupe, etc, really.

I have always been a pretty safe higher speed driver in that I took it easy in traffic, easy to me, maybe a bit fast to others, and nearly all my high speed stuff was out in the country by myself, which I have hundreds of thousands of miles of doing, now I drive like the grandpa I am most of the time though.

I got away with making dozens of high speed trips in the granny looking car, even had other cars running with my get pulled over while I was ignored, saw a cop slap his radar gun when I went flying by on a long sweeper at well over 100 MPH, I am not kidding, huge smile on my face that moment to be sure:) 335 miles each way, Bremerton to Spokane, 75 highway so had to go slower, a couple of stop lights, end up at the Eastern side of Snoqualamie Pass, started at the bottom I would hit around 115 at the summit and go as fast as I could all the rest of the way, one fuel stop required as it had a small tank, my usual trip took around 3.5-4.0 hours. I was never pulled over once even when flying in the rain or light snow.

It was some of the best driving fun I have ever had. Funny thing was when time to go back to San Diego I hooked up the trailer, loaded up the family, cruising down the interstate that turned into a 4 lane road for a bit came upon a highway patrol officer in the middle of the road holding his hand up for me to stop, I thought there must of been a bad wreck up the road. Turns out I did not see the 55 MPH sign when passing a big rig, I was going 65 and got a ticket for that, I laughed it as so ironic, thanked him and went on my way, never happier to get a ticked that that day.

I could go on about the red Mustang and Camaro I played tag with one day for around 150 miles, we were all hauling arse and they could not get away from me, I was tempted to come around them on a few corners but I would of really been pushing the car all out and I did not know how they would react, lots of drivers of such cars have little experience at those speeds. When we got out onto the 40 mile straight in the middle of the state I knew it was not the place to be playing around with red cars so I let off the accelerator, just then looked in the mirror and saw the lights of a cruiser way behind, by the time he passed flying all out in his Mustang I was at the speed limit and 10 miles down the road he had those guys pulled over, I slipped on by while they both pointed me out, he ignored them:)

I loved the car but went through several CV joints and two transmissions, not from banging gears, just the fast driving, the parts had to be flown in from Japan as they sold no other car with the parts in the US, only a handful of the cars were ever sold, I have only seen one other in person years later and would of bought it but knew I would have trouble with it. It was traded on a 92 new model, 4cyl auto....for my family, I went back to driving my ancient but great running Ford Courier.
