Just installed it tonight, very happy with it i got the Aluminized model just because vegas doesnt see much weather (Just Hot.) I thought it was gonna be really loud but at idle its very mellow and deep and cruising no drone, but as everyone says once you get on it it growls. Im very happy worth the money, the aluminized was well Aluminum haha but the tips are very nice.

The aluminized exhaust is not made from aluminum. It is just regular mild steel (hence the lower cost) that is hot-dip coated to help prevent corrosion.

If I was purchasing an aluminized exhaust, I would visually inspect all of the weld joints for any degradation of the hot dip coating, and apply a clear ceramic sealer (if not already done) to these areas to prevent differential corrosion. An aluminum based, spray on, hi temp paint would also work well.

Note: If the exhaust has been protected with aluminized paint after welding, there is no reason to do this. A magnet will still stick to aluminized paint, but will lift off easier, as the thickness of the protection increases. Aluminized exhaust has a silvery appearance, you may notice some rust in the welds, if its not already adequately protected. Aluminum on the surface of the exhaust acts as an anode to corrode preferentially, protecting the steel underneath. I would assume MBRP does quality work, and has post weld protected their aluminized exhaust weld joints, but I always check to make sure.

I wish more companies would offer a choice of material. Living in Southern California, I really don't need 304 stainless and of course not willing to spend $600-800 for an exhaust.

I hear that. Just be luck you don't have a Porsche where a catback is $2000+ starting and only 2 feet long.

FWIW.... even here in the low desert where we experience extremely low humidity levels with less than 2" of total rain fall for the year I have seen examples where lower grade "aluminized" exhaust pipe actually did corrode aggressively from the inside of the pipe outwards due to internal exhaust condensation which will occur regardless of ambient outside low humidity levels...That said if your intending on only keeping your vehicle with new exhaust system for less than 4 years then I suppose aluminized exhaust tubing is probably as good as any option....

I went this way just because its cheaper and I will probably get a nicer exhaust later on down the road, when Im done with some other mods.

I bought the Borla/FRPP becuase of quality and materials.
