The gun was transferred to my name by a family member. I'm not sure about now, but the minimum age for a CCW/LTC was 18 when I applied (you have to be 21 to purchase a handgun, 18 to possess or own). I had good reason to carry at the time, am an Eagle Scout and have references in law enforcement. It was not a walk in the park and takes a bit of time to get which I'm glad for. I believe sane, responsible people can have guns, but not everyone.
As for the BS street racing law, Los Angeles temporarily passed a law that they could even seize spectator's cars at illegal street races. The laws were meant to target racing with injuries, fatalities or property damage, but the loose language allows many counties able to deem speeding as 'racing'. I'm all for enforcing consequences of illegal activity, but seizing personal property is rather tyrannical. Gotta love socialism....
