ITG Induction kit issue?

So I had an ITG system fitted the other day. On very low throttle while driving, just enough to maintain speed and maybe accelerate with traffic, I can hear a horrible sound, like something scraping? If I press the pedal a tiny bit more, then the horrible sound goes and I can hear the usual induction sound, that’s fine, so is the let off hiss. Just when I’m driving around in traffic, it sounds awful! It’s so loud and only goes if I let off or press the pedal harder. Does anyone else have this or is there something wrong?

I have the same intake and I hear something similar. I'm 90% sure it's just the BPV venting boost during partial throttle. You're hearing the air rushing back into the intake tract which is now much less muffled with the new intake. It doesn't seem like an issue to me.

My coworker has the same intake and he complains about the awful noise it makes with small throttle input.

I have taken it off now and will be replacing it with a mountune box. Such a shame because I loved everything about it, apart from that noise that sounds like when you blow over the top of a bottle. It was seriously loud and took real effort to drive in traffic without it being too loud. Maybe mine is louder than others, I don’t know but I do know I couldn’t keep it on, such a shame though.
Any ideas on others that may not be so loud? I’m looking for more of a blow off noise than intake so just replace the recirc?

You can hear the noise easily in this video. If I hit the “sweet spot” on the throttle, it would do that noise non stop until I let off or press harder. The noise is a lot louder in person as the phone picks up wind noise a lot more.

Another good example of the noise.

Sounds somewhat similar to mine. I have a full aftermarket intake through to the turbo. To get the noise, I have to be at a really specific level of throttle that rarely occurs when I'm driving. I can get it if I try, but it doesn't happen even close to often enough to annoy me.

The band where mine is audible is massive, do you think a different crossover pipe might help? That’s the only thing I can think of. It’s definitely the air rushing through that’s causing the noise but can’t think why mine would be louder than anyone else’s, aside from the fact mine is completely stock apart from the ITG pipe.

That metallic sound is present in my ramair intake on light throttle.

I dunno, I dig how loud it is.

In the right situations, that sound is audible in my 2017 stock ST. For example: going uphill between buildings in 2nd gear at about 2000 rpm on steady throttle.

I have exactly the same thing, noise very audible from about 1600rpm, more so in 1st and 2nd, but also noticeable in 3rd.
Had it when car was stock, still have it with mTune 215 and freer flowing air filter. Just replaced the diverter valve with the uprated GFB DV+ and the noise is a little less pronounced but still there.
Based on this thread I'm going to say it's "normal", if rather annoying

Arrived here because I just installed the same ITG intake - found myself getting a bit annoyed with the mentioned metallic noise around 2k RPM.

Will be seeing if I just get used to it for now, as I'm loving everything else about the intake + need it for the remap I'll be doing soon.

If it's too grating - will have to think about swapping it out for the ST200 airbox I think.
