Hey everyone I installed these Koshin headlights I got off ebay yesterday and they are really dim. I think I read somewhere that someone on this forum said that you have to leave them on for a while to "burn in"so I drove the car around town for about half an hour and they never seem to get any brighter does anybody have any experience with these headlights are they just junk? I will tell you they were pretty cheap.

May I ask what made you choose those lights? I'm I'm going to replace OEM, it's almost always going to be with PIAA bulbs. Also, I see you got the 7500K color temperature which definitely hurts the light output. On cheaper bulbs they usually just coat the bulb with something blue to tint the light. On HID setups, I know that you get the most lumens per watt at around 4200-4600k, with output dropping significantly above 6000k.

Try some PIAA bulbs in the 5000K range, I promise they're worth it!

I was trying to get the whitest and brightest. I guess I picked wrong and got what I paid for.

There's a big difference between whitest, and a high color temperature. Those are probably quite blue...OEM hids are around 5000K if that's the "white" look you're going for. Like I said, above 5000K, as color temp goes up, brightness goes down.

I'd go for the PIAA Xtreme White listed here:

Everything about this post is correct.

Yes, new bulbs typically need some time to burn-in, but the difference won't be super-drastic. Drop out of the blue color range and get closer to 4200k if you want them to be bright.

I've also heard good things about PIAA bulbs but generally run Sylvania ZXE's as they are both white and bright. I've never heard of the brand in the OP.

OEM Hids are around 42-4300k.

Sylvania works well.

NO way... For years it's always been 4100k > 6000k, when did this change?

Nothing changed except the inexorable downhill slide of people's tastes and preferences outweighing performance...

I have super cheap 6k bulbs I got from Amazon. Got the color I wanted but they are dimmer than stock but not a problem. Reviews have said they burn out within a month but I've had mine for 2.5 months and there still good.

Thanks for the confirmations. Good to know 4100k is still the best on the color spectrum.
