Hi All.

I know it's been a minute. I've been insanely busy lately but finally will have time to start putting this idea together. As you may or may not have seen, the fiesta ST we put together for the 2014 SEMA show featured a one off front lip. A clean simple design to help streamline the front end that was a design idea on my part. Anyhow, we are leaning heavily into putting the lip into production and wanted to see how many Fiesta ST owners would be interested in this part. It would be made of fiberglass and possible carbon fiber once we get the fiberglass molds finished and know where we stand. The pricing for the lip would be fair. Here are some pics of the car at sema. It would be for the lip itself and not the carbon splitters/diffusers.

thoughts?

Love how it flows with the intercooler opening, do it! Also, perhaps a cheaper material could be a good idea seeing how the only lips available right now are ~$250ish. Wouldn't hurt to have a cheaper option out there.

Looks promising. Interested to find out more, and how this mounts to the vehicle.

Thank you for all the responses!

We are definitely leaning towards a very high quality fiberglass piece. ABS molds and production per batch is very costly which would have to drive the production to overseas thus creating a HUGE wait time (which we all hate). unless we can move a very high volume of units (in the thousands) to justify the cost of production. unfortunately the ST is a very niche market and unique in its own (a very good thing I LOVE THIS CAR). The fiberglass manufacture i will be using is based in the USA so it will be a USA made product. They usually manufacture at a moderate pace averaging 1 unit per week/1.5 weeks, allowing sufficient time for the piece to cure in the mold to reduce warping. many times a lot of parts you see made, are rushed in the manufacturing process and are not allowed to cure properly thus having odd fitment issues/ warping.

If everyone's serious I will definitely get this going for everyone and the lip will be moderately priced. MSRP around $275-300. Carbon fiber version to follow once we have the fiberglass version out on the market.

The mold process will take about a month or so, so We could have the first unit available by spring break! =)

hey everyone,

sorry for the lack of updates, the prototype piece is in final finishing (one that was on our car, it was super rough and just sanded down/painted for sema) and then off to the mold it goes. After a month, the first piece will be available and we will test fit it to our fiesta and from there, we can produce 1 lip about every 7-10 days. The lips are made to order. Although fiberglass, the quality of the materials will be very high compared to a lot of fiberglass parts out on the market. I've used this manufacturing plant in the past for all the scion related items i use to make back before the economic downfall and the quality has been nothing but great! Also the parts will be made in the USA. not china, not mexico, etc.

i'm excited for this! [wiggle]
