WELCOME and CONGRATS!!

There are a bunch of us 'old timers' on here (every time I hear that phrase, the Todd Snider song pops into my head! LOL).

I'm almost 62, some others on here have me beat by 10+ years.

Haha welcome!
I'm 10 years away from AARP eligibility myself.
Maybe all these Ford marketing people are getting it wrong like the Toyota people did with Scion brand:
They targeted 20 somethings and actually got 30-40 somethings. [cool]

finally picked it up and did a few miles driving. few observations

1. the gas pedal is way too far down for me compared to the brake pedal. I just ordered the "no-piston" pedal spacer and hopefully that will take care of that.
2. how do I unlock the doors while I'm in the car?
3. no arm rest. the arm rest is so small and I sit pretty far up so I got nothing.
4. still breaking it in so I can't drive it like my old s2000, yet!
5. need to pick up all weather mats.
6. need to tint

Agreed it's a little low. My friend has a 3D printer and there's a free Fiesta ST spacer I'm gonna have him try to print for me. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1369818

2. how do I unlock the doors while I'm in the car?
It's opposite the Hazard Button on the front console. There's that one button. That's all. Stupid, I know.

3. no arm rest. the arm rest is so small and I sit pretty far up so I got nothing.
I'm 5'10" so I sit further back. There's still a little for me to rest on. The height is actually good unlike the Honda Fit.

4. still breaking it in so I can't drive it like my old s2000, yet!
Yeah.. I missed the part about breaking it in when I took mine from the dealer. This is my first car after all. Oh well. I'll be gentle with it for the next thousand miles or so.
By the recommendation of a guy on here (he wrote something on here about Engine break-in 101) Do an oil change ASAP. While there weren't any metal pieces large enough that you could feel, I could tell suspended in the oil were tiny flecks of metals. Almost like a metallic or pearl paint if you've ever played with automotive paints. Very subtle but it's there. This was at 400 miles. I will do one again at 1000 or so. I actually switched to a conventional oil rather than using the synthetic blend that came from the factory and a better PureOne oil filter, since I thought the synthetic blend might hinder break in. I will go back to the blend after this probably.

5. need to pick up all weather mats.
Do it! The factory ones run about 90-100. They are a D/S lacks a little coverage along the firewall.

Agreed. But NY inspections as of 2017 require the inspectors at the shop to use a light meter. I want to see whether I can get around this, otherwise it's $150 bucks down the drain.
