Performance Acronyms/Abbreviations (For Noobs like me :))

ABE - Axle Back Exhaust (basically the muffler)
ABS - Anti-lock Brake System
AC (A/C) - Air Conditioning
AFR (A/F) - Air Fuel Ratio
ARK - Anti Roll Kit (Swaybars)
ATDC - After Top Dead Center
ATX - Automatic Transmission
AWD - All Wheel Drive
BBK - Big Boost Kit
BCS- Boost Control Solenoid
BDC - Bottom Dead Center
BHP - Brake Horsepower
BOV - Blow Off Valve
BPU - Basic Performance Upgrade
BPV - another term you'll sometimes see referring to the recirculating BOV (bypass valve, backpressure valve, essentially the same thing, different acronym)
BTDC - Before Top Dead Center
CAI - Cold Air Intake
CARB - California Air Resourses Board
CAT - Catalytic Converter
CBE - Catback exhaust(the muffler, and midpipe, sometimes included the 2nd cat delete aka test pipe)
CC (C/C) - Cruise Control
CEL- Check Engine Light
CHMSL - Center High Mounted Stop Light
CMD - Combustion Management Device (piggy back tuning device)
COP - Coil-on-plug
CVVT - Continuous Variable Valve Timing (Mechanical parts in the engine that happen to change events/timing, nothing to do with spark/ignition timing)
DC - Duty Cycle
DP - Downpipe (sometimes includes 02 housing pipe or test pipe)
DSI - Dual Stage Intake
DSM - Diamond Star Motors
DTC - Diagnostic Trouble Code
EBC - Electronic Boost Controller
ECG - Engine Coolant Temp
ECM - Engine Control Module (sometimes referred to as ECU...Engine Control Unit)
ECU - Electronic Control Unit (vehicle's stock on-board computer)
EGR - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (as in "EGR Valve")
EGT - Exhaust Gas Temp
EWG - External Wastegate
FI (F/I) - Forced Induction or Fuel Injection
FIC - Fuel/Ignition Controller
FMIC - Front Mounted Intercooler
FP - Flex Pipe
FPR - Fuel Pressure Regulator
FSM - Factory Service Manual
FWD - Front Wheel Drive
FWHP - Front Wheel Horsepower
GVWR - Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (found on door sticker)

IWG - Internal Wastegate
LCA - Lower control arm
LED - Light Emmiting Diode
LEV - Low Emissions Vehicle
