Started this thread to have a place to dump some pics and stuff. My fairly extensive datazap page had all the pre- water injection info anyone could ever want. I will be posting logs for after the wmi as well to show the difference.
My kit was bought for $200 of craigslist. Its a perrin PWI-2, but was also sold as an aquamist ERL. Its a fairly older kit, but from what I've read, not too many current kits are better ( AEM's new kit and alcoy injection . Com is prob better ).
Anyway. Gonna do some install pics and try to give some info. Hope others will have an easier time by me posting this stuff.
I'm going to run it off the Map sensor.
My kit uses a "nozzle holder" from aquamist. The sources I found were too expensive for my taste ( reasonable with high high shipping or low shipping for an expensive fitting ). They use an extremely fine thread M8x.075 thread for the nozzles. This is mostly done to force you to buy their nozzle holder. Mostly out of contempt, and because I may add a second nozzle later, I found a tap online and ordered it from China for $8. One nozzle was gonna cost me like $18. I then spent $4.50 at ace hardware for 1/8npt barbed fittings (2). I took the barb off, drilled the fitting, shortened it, tapped it, and this what I got.
The fitting serves as an adaptor so you swap injectors out freely without wearing your charge tube out. Injectors are F-ing $25 a piece btw.
Anyway.... I tested the nozzle's spray pattern in the shop on the bench to ensure the the nozzle being shrouded by the adapter would not cause interference. I don't think aquamist adaptors are shrouded. Devil's own's best nozzles are purposely shrouded. I believe they do this to help keep the boost air from messing with the nozzle before it really gets away from the injector. So I copied it.
(Insert video's link here when you upload them)
I did this in 29min ( I know this because my break at work is 30min, which included me walking to/from the car.
Mark the tube before removing it from the car.
This is a whole. No going back now !! Lol.
Starter tap, make sure its centered in all directions.
Red lock tight, get ya sum
Magic legs.
This shows the adaptor does not really get in the way of moving air.
Top view without injector in.
More to come
