This is exciting, looking forward to updates. And thank you for being willing and committing to “bucking the trend”. It really is helpful for others to see updates like yours, and hopefully spark a fire on others butts to do cool stuff too.

That said, as much as I back and support SP63 (and I genuinely do and like the guys overall), give yourself mental room for the chance that your build may or may not arrive/be done in as timely a manner as expected. Sounds like you already got the idea that they do a small batch or just one build at a time. Better to be pleasantly surprised than disappointed at a slow-er/ish build completion than expected or discussed. Their stuff is legit, theyve just tended to get backed up for one reason or another at times.

Exciting times dude, going to follow along here! I wonder why there’s so little information on built engine for these cars. There’s pretty much zero reports on the long term ownership of the Pumaspeed engines.

I would guess the biggest barrier to entry is the cost (luckily for me I have the funds, and do not have to run my sometimes less that good financial decisions by any one else). I would assume most people look at it from a return on investment basis, I could imagine from this perspective its hard to justify putting an ~$11k engine in a car that would be worth ~$14k once you're done. I have 0 intention of ever getting rid of my ST and will continue tracking it until the car or myself are unable to do so. That's not to say in the future I won't have another car for the track, but the ST will still see track time.

Ideally I would like to have the new engine done and in before the end of my track season, but if it isn't, that's no skin off my back. I'll just get back out there next season. It's very likely, knowing me, that if missing the rest of this season is a certainty, I'll use the extra time to think of and buy more things to change "while I'm in there", so either way to me it's a win-win. haha

Ultimately, regardless of time, as long as I end up with a stout engine that will last on the track, I'll be stoked (being able to throw some ethanol at it and crank it up a little won't hurt either).

I was surprised by the same fact. Not just here, but I was looking all over online and found only bread crumbs. So, I figured since one way or another I need a new engine, and I might as well do it right, I also might as well keep the community up to date. At least maybe this thread will help someone in the future.

Got an update from SP63 Wednesday.

Good news - new base engine from Ford was delivered

Bad new - new base engine from Ford was delivered... broken...

I guess SP63 posted on their instagram but I don't have social media, so to any of you that do you can see it there. SP63 just sent me the video, looks like it took a tumble. Looked to be mainly plastic bits broken, but better safe than sorry, so they sent it right back and requested a new one.

Silver lining being it seems they have these engines stocked somewhere as it was only ~ a week to get the first one, albeit broken.
