Ram air intake inside air box? DIY Solution?

I have an injen intake and am wondering if it is possible to isolate it from the engine and just feed air from the radiator cowl and/or hose below a la ST200. Has anyone tried to DIY heat shielding/air flow to a ram air intake? Wondering if I can maybe mod a stock airbox to cover the cone filter. Would that be possible? Too restrictive?

There are some intakes like airtec that include a shield, but my understanding is that the intake doesn’t make a ton of difference as long as it flows enough air. An efficient intercooler is more impactful

Thanks. Running a monster adapt x tune, they recommend not using a cai like the injen but I'm not sure how much of an effect it really has.

On the stock turbo you’re not talking about enough of a difference to spend any time, effort, or money worrying about it, IMO
