I was reving the car in first white clutch in and parking break on and I was bouncing of 3.5k rpm. I was wondering if anybody knew if this was some kind of launch control mod or other problem.
I bought the car modded from a dealership but the original owner didn’t provide a list of the mods.

What do you mean bouncing off? You had your foot in it and no matter how much you pressed the accelerator it wouldn't rev past 3500?
And you had first gear selected but held the clutch in to rev the engine?
I would not recommend doing that. I would not recommend holding the clutch pedal down at all. Just use the clutch to start off and to change gears. Otherwise when stopped put the transmission in neutral. You'll thank me when you don't have to replace the slave cylinder because the clutch pedal sticks down.

There is no launch control, and there should be no rev limiter at 3500.

If he has a tune it's quite possible, my Dizzy tune has launch control at 2.5k if clutch is held in and the pedal is stabbed

Bouncing off as in it hits it and drops to 3000 then rises.
Secondly I do have some form of launch control system.

If you press cancel on the cruise control pad then press + or - , you're able to change map slots, the RPM needle will move to indicate... You might find out you have multiple tunes

from other posts I have tested the LC and it does not seem to be that as the bouncing was more physical in natures as the needle went down to 3000 then back to 3500

How does the 'valet mode' slot respond to free reving?

Yeah, I was saying that stock the car does not have launch control. Any launch control comes from an aftermarket tune.
