lol i'm having a hard time shifting at low RPMs. The car is just too fun to rev up and drive... That said the computer is telling me i'm doing 7.2L/100km or 32.67 mpg. I am running 94 octane on stock map and the car is just shy of 1400km.
As low as possible, since I spend much of my time in the city. A lot of times it's around 2000rpm (which brings the next gear in around 1500rpm), on more casual roads, I shift at a higher point, though.
I mostly use the OEM shift light in the instrument cluster unless I am on a spirited drive. When I loaded my OTS stage 1 tune the shift up light seemed to have moved up in RPM range a bit actually. I'm at 36.3 right now.

Good observaton...Cobb does slightly advance the upshift threshold indicator roughly 300~400rpms on their stg 1, 2, and 3 OTS maps...
If you have Cobb's ATR program you can setup the upshift thresholds to any rpm you like to use for shift indicators...

This table represents the maximum engine speed allowed while in gears 1-5 before the upshift indicator will display on the instrument cluster.

That seems so crazy to me. Maybe it's because I'm coming from an STI where the power doesn't come on until post 3.5k rpm. The shift light shows up on or before 2k rpms it seems. When followed, I've found myself in 6th gear at 40mph. That brings me to question. In the STI it was always frowned upon to go WOT in a high gear/low rpm situation. Given the FiST's torque curve, is it okay to go WOT at or below 2k rpm in a higher gear?

I don't like too, I'll downshift if I want to give it a lot of throttle or go WOT. I'm not a fan of lugging the engine. Especially this car. You'll get a good feel for it as you drive it more.
I came from 3 years in a TDI, lugging those is really bad for the engine, well any engine for that matter. They live on boost and actually rely on it too keep the rings sealing properly.
Just drop a gear or two and you'll be in the boost and smiling like a kid haha. [emoji106][emoji106]
exactly..that was the intention of Ford adding this feature (economy shifting)....
Funny...One of the first things I did when I began self-tuning with Cobb ATR was to change the values such that I don't see them any longer...That upshift indicator feature gets really annoying to see very quickly...
