Shift linkage experts please weigh in

Hello,
Slight resistance going into 3rd and 5th, probably 1st but I only shipped in the first with the car stationary.
Entire transaxle replaced with a new unit under warranty but the issue remains.
People that have worked on the shift linkage cables do you think that I need to replace a stretched cable or are there bushings or other parts that I could try replacing before getting into that

I'm guessing you got a mk8? Check for any blockages first. Disconnect the shift cables and see how freely they can be pulled in and out. Wouldn't say I'm an expert so I can't say much more. Do you know the history of your car? Bought new or used? Accidents?

North American 2018 bought new.
I think it started after I miss shifted into third so might have stretched a cable or damaged some other component. Changing the cable is a pita so I'm wondering if there's anything else I can start with. I'll see how they move thank you

Sorry idk why without my glasses I thought your flag was Denmark or sum and I didn't bother looking closer lol. Not even sure why seeing your flag didn't register anything tbh lol.

Yeah I'd say check the shift cables for smoothness pulling in and out. Should be easy if you just take out the battery and pry them off the arms.

What gear were you coming from when you missed and went into 3rd? Not sure but I think it might be possible something plastic got bent or broken under the shift boot
