Has anyone experience these tires? These have mixed reviews on tirerack. Was thinking of wrapping these in 205/45/16 on my future TD Pro Race 1.2 wheels for $66ea.
Would love to hear a brief review from members with experience on these.

I have not run them but I have friends that have. They have an insane amount of tire noise and the grip is not very good, it depends on what you are planning on doing with them.

The price though....hard to beat that, but they are loud.

Spirited Street use mostly. Was gonna try autocross this summer but not for sure.

You may be disappointed with the grip then if you plan on autocrossing....the factory rubber (which is no longer legal for street class) would provide more grip.

But you can get an entire set for two of one of the better tires (the RS-3 is double the price) so it might be one of the eh....what the hell why not?

I have them. 235/40-17's. They do NOT have the same type of lateral grip, even going to a MUCH wider tire vs the stockers. The 3 things they beat the stock tires in ? Price by far. Forward grip. Durability.

I would NOT recommend them for autocross. But I am happy with them.

HTRZ 3s are great performance street tires in lower HP application, but the 2s are extremely dated and mediocre.. The z3s were my go-to tire when I couldn't afford Azenis 615s. Now my go-to performance choice on a budget are hankook v12 ego or BFG gforce Sport2. Keep in mind, we drove on the BFG at the ST academy and they held up great on the track!

Bummer, tireack doesnt sell the HTR III in 16" at least. Im reading alot of positive reviews on the Sport Comps except for road noise. May have to give them a shot.

The BFG isn't bad, if I had to choose between the two I would get those.

I need tires that have good hydroplane resistance. Not sure those are as good as the sport comp but i may be wrong.

Well if they are anything like my old DZll's they are one of the best in the wet.. many use them as there wet tires in autoX and TireRack rates them pretty good for in the wet ..
but the Comp2's do rate better for a better price BFG

I have the them on my car right now, in 215/40/17. It's a good tire, but will obviously not have the same level of grip the stock tires do. They are not bad by any means, and they handle pretty well, but if you're expecting awesome performance, you'll be dissapointed. That being said, if you're not looking for extreme grip, and want a tire that wears well, gives a good ride and is quiet, then its a good choice.

I have also run the HTR A/S PO1s, and I like them also. I had them in 215/45/17 on my old SVTF. Also a very good tire for the money.

Tread wear ratings are mostly BS, but they do give you some idea what to expect from the tire. 1XX= grippy 3XX= good tread wear. Lastly, any tire that is not a "winter" tire will suck really bad below 40 degrees.

I run the HTR Z tires on my Mustang and they were ungodly cheap. I intended to use them for street tires and my Hoosier R6 tires when autocrossing. The Hoosiers got hard from storage and it was a hassle getting them to the course, so I decided to run on the Sumitomo's. They lack grip so much that autocrossing becomes an event best served sideways. Having rock hard cheap tires does help practice throttle and brake control since it doesn't take much for them to lose traction. I don't think I have seen anyone using the Z II's on the street and surely not autocrossing.
