I see a few years ago, some of y'all were having great longevity out of your Whoosh Hybrids.

I'm jealous.

My second Whoosh Hybrid (same vehicle) just died today in spectacular fashion, leaving the smokescreen behind me like the game Spy Hunter (NES). It was a warranty replacement, but I got the privilege of paying for labor and replacement took four (4) months.

Both turbos lasted right around 11k miles and we're professionally installed.
2 sides to every story

Here's the notes from our builder from this morning

His turbo is a total loss, Turbo failed at overspeed. Customer preloaded the wastegate so heavy that it opens at 26PSI and the wastegate flapper doesn’t even open a 1/8 of an inch. I can send you a video if you would like

I would consider finding a new "professional installer" He owes me the cost of a turbo. They're mistake and yet you're here bashing the product. Truly unreal

Sorry to dredge this up - I'm getting oily, blue smoke from under the hood (142K), usually when just getting up to temp - 1st traffic light is nasty - then dissipates (duh, im driving away). Acc belt and coolant was changed out and my valve cover leaks, but is that the cause? I know you can't diagnose from that, but ideas? oil line to turbo?
Thought I'd close this - and ask a question on smoking turbos...my cause is a leaking valve cover gasket which smokes at idle, badly, at the 1st traffic stop of the day (traffic lite, stop sign, etc). Had Ford replace, no smoke. Are the turbo's smoking? or other causes? (140k miles)
