....my eyes aren't deceiving me right? That's a LCD displaying the gear in the knob? Is there a link to this thing? o_O

I really like the latheworks knobs, but man, are they pricey. I'll add it to the list of things to buy in the future haha
That is an LCD screen. http://www.partscheap.com/Shift-Knob-by-Gaslock-Gear-Indicator-p/var3z-7213-b.htm there is a the link. When they put it on at the dealer they said it was an absolute pain to install but it looks really nice. I love the finish on it

That looks awesome. Are you getting it? I love the sphere I have. And does he have any photos of the knob option? Or is that the knob option?

And the only thing looks weird about it is the height. I like the low height of the sphere one.

I already have the new LW hybrid piston shift knob installed and just took those pics in above post...The new piston knob feels great particularly with the thumb depression on top and I'm also liking the added height...really like how it looks too...Just click on link I posted to see all options for the hybrid piston knob available from LW to select from...

I had LW's sphere knob installed before this new piston knob for quite a while (below)...

Post up pics of your aftermarket (or different than stock) shift knobs. I'll start out with my 2015 Mustang GT shiftknob:
That's funny, I bought a '15 Mustang knob and when I tightened it all the way, the reverse ring would not come up. Partially tightened and it would work. I went with my Boomba.

Hey, this looks like a nice first thread to post in!

I've currently got one of the Boomba ovular 370 gram shift knobs installed on one of the Boomba Short Throw Shifter assemblies with their Aluminum Base Bushings in place to tighten things up a bit. Still have to do the Transmission Bracket Bushings and perhaps the shift plate to go with it. Easily one of my favorite mods on the car so far. According to my kitchen scale, the new knob is some 120 or so grams heavier than stock and it just feels that much better when combined with the shorter, more mechanical throws. Absolutely loving it.

I'm considering moving over to one of the LatheWerkz knobs like BoostBumps, but the price is a bit hard to chew on right now. Also been looking at some of the Anarchy Motive offerings, but have a fear they might be going a bit too far at this point.

The new knob was a pre-Christmas present "splurge" for myself...I know LW knobs aren't cheap but the quality and feel is amazing...

The new LW Hybrid Piston certainly provides a different shifting experience compared to my previous LW Sphere...And so far I'm enjoying it quite a bit...It's feels a bit more "rally-esk" and has been great for daily driving...[driving]

It just screws right on correct? No problems with the reverse lockout functioning correctly?

Didn't see anyone post one yet, so here is a Roush knob. I had it in my '15 GT, was the only part I could transfer over.

yup...just screws on, fits perfectly, and reverse lockout is easy to engage and works as it should...
That's what I was wondering about, the engagement of the reverse lockout. I like the added height and I think the polymer feel will be more to my liking vs a metal one, like this 3-inch shift knob from Boosted Designs. I like that one mostly the same reason taller for easier reach (and apparent mating to lockout ring).

Aside: Would be great to hear from anyone who has installed that Boosted Designs piece.

I looked at Boosted Designs 3" piston style shift knobs as well but they were only available in either all aluminum or stainless steel and that would not work well for me here in the low desert climate where the metal knob would probably get too hot to handle in the summer...And for those in cold winter climates a metal knob might not be that comfortable either?

I think the copolymer / stainless steel hybrid piston knob from Lathe Werks was a better choice for me....Its my new favorite knob of the 4 shift knobs I now have!
