So I have finally bitten the bullet and sorted out my stage 2 intercooler.

I purchased an MTC intercooler for only ?100 second hand. Very cheap !

It couldnt of been any easier to install, all I needed to do was remove the bumper, remove the old intercooler then simply bolt in the new one.

There was no need to remove any plastic trim.

Neat! I just purchased one myself. I'm glad to see you didn't have to trim anything.

Just a quick update. Got my intercooler last week, only took them 2 days to ship to Virginia from the UK, which is awesome. installed it in less than 2 hours, so far so good. Charge temps stayed only a few degrees over ambient in normal driving. Most I saw was 10 degrees over ambient during spirited driving.

Put one on Saturday. I don't think you will find a cheaper brand new intercooler. Even shipped over night from the UK to Ohio! Charge temps stay close to the intake temps while cruising. Temps drop down quickly when pulling away from a light or stopped traffic.

So far. I didn't pay for extra fancy shipping or anything like that. Ordered on a Friday, had it on Tuesday. UPS doesn't ship on Sunday here, so I still consider that two day turn around.

I got mine in less than a week from them after purchasing from eBay. The seller is really cool and will quickly answer any questions you have.

Also, you can get the intercooler in black according to the eBay ad but I've never seen anyone actually get it.

I asked him if i could get it black first but he told me that would add a bit of delay to the shipping date + that the black paint he used tend to chip a bit sadly :c

Also did any of you got the MTC stencil? I kinda wish i had it bundled with my order , it's no biggie tho x3

Any one know the core volume on this IC? It's claimed to be identical to Cobb's but I've never seen the numbers.

I bought this one because the Depo was out of stock. Now that it is, I may just sell the MTC and get one if there is a big difference. If not, I can live with it.

I'd just run the MTC. I'm using one currently. Quality is great, direct bolt in. Charge temps were reduced significantly on back to back pulls over the stock unit.

Don't get me wrong - the unit looked great, solid build quality, flawless condition after shipping, and seems identical to the Cobb.

I'm a hard data kind of guy so I'd love to see some data. Looks like I'll have to take some logs...

In the outer Bay Area CA temps go up to 100 F + at least 10 days a year. I also visit the desert. So I need a good IC. The MTC from my research seemed the best bang for the buck next to the Depo. I just wish I could get the true core volume!

I been logging my mtc intercooler on my stage 2 + setup for dhm the past few days. I typically see about a 10 degree rise on a 2500-6800 3rd gear pull and then charge temps drop back to within 5 of ambient when im not doing a pull

Awesome info. How does this compare with the Depo and cpe, any thoughts?

I had the depo unit on my fost, i would say they are equal quality wise, i would have gotten the depo if they were in stock 2 months ago lol but imo the mtc is identical to depo. The cpe unit i believe is slightly larger but way more expensive. Personally if i wasnt going with mtc/depo i would have gotten a factory fit dhm ic.

Ok, good - I was worried I needed to change my setup already. I guess I will take some logs for fun soon - I have the MTC and the Mountune charge pipes as well as AP/Cobb stage 1 and I still have to install it! I promised myself I'd stop at Stage 2 but now I'm looking at the GFB DV+ and something like a Depo DP/ Millen CBE combo...or screw it just get a Cyborg39. Hopefully the MTC is up to it- I think it is.
