Not yet an ST owner, but soon to be.

We are selling our house and moving out in the country, and I will replace my 2010 Mustang with a Fiesta ST. Joining up here is part of my planning process.

Past cars include
1975 Datsun B210,
1969 VW Beetle,
1973 VW Super Beetle Convertible,
1977 Ford Pinto,
1983 Plymouth Horizon,
1982 Ford F150,
1985 Mercury Topaz,
1964 Falcon Sprint Convertible,
1965 Falcon Sprint Convertible,
1966 Ford Mustang,
1983 BMW 320i,
1996 Toyota Tacoma,
2002 Toyota Matrix,
2007 Toyota Yaris,
2001 BMW Z3,
2008 MINI Clubman,
2009 BMW 128i,
2014 Dodge Dart Limited,
2010 Ford Mustang Convertible.

I wonder how the FiST compares to the 128i... that was one fun car!

Hoping for Magnetic for 2017... not sure about the Recaros at this point... need to test drive the 'plain' seats. I have a 'guy' who will reupholster the cloth seats in leather or vinyl and will also add some bolstering (if I feel it necessary after a few k miles), for about a thousand bucks (front and rear). I'm facing an hour commute and the Recaros make me nervous as I have heard about issues with long drives. It will be my DD so comfort outweighs coolness.

So... no options for me! Ought to be able to get outta thetre under $20K for sure!

Are the calipers painted red on all the ST's or does it come with the Recaros...?

Thanks!

I'm facing an hour commute and the Recaros make me nervous as I have heard about issues with long drives.

I drove mine from Kelso to Salt Lake City (for the Octane Academy) stopping in Boise on the way, but coming home did it all in one day in the Recaros. Don't be afradi of them not being comfortable on a long drive! I've also driven it to Illinois and back. I've never gotten the lower back pain I used to get after 5 or 6 hours in my Focus (on drives to L.A.) .. I'm now in the planning stages to take a month on the road driving to Illinois, then New York, and back. I'm expecting to do about 6500 miles.. Don't be afraid of the Recaros not being comfortable on your hour commute... Best seats I've ever had.

Welcome, I to have never been uncomfortable in my Recaros and I did about 5 trips from Eureka California to Sweet Home Oregon (about 6-7 hours straight thru) between 2 months, and was never uncomfortable really surprised me that i had no back pain or much soreness from that many miles, especially with out stopping but once for gas in Grants Pass. Also my wife loves the seats too she loves our drives into Eugene (about 45-1hour) never complained about discomfort.

Howdy! I'm from WA, recently bought a 2016 magnetic with recaros. Have to say they are very comfortable for me on long drives but fwow I'm a small guy (5'9" 130lb) I believe the painted calipers are an extra option, they had two st's' at the dealership I bought mine from, both with the recaro package, but only one had painted calipers. I wanted a moonroof more so I'm just going to paint the calipers myself :)

Hi Greasy, and welcome aboard :D
Good call. I painted mine with a can of brush on RustOleum caliper paint.
