They did not cover AMSOIL filters.
I said NAME brand.....you be suprised at how many people dont know amsoil exists. I'll bet out of 10 people...1 to 2 people actually know who and what it is....that are every day consumers...not like any of us at all on the forum.

Ya looked at the article and it I forget you said name brank interesting none the less. It was interesting Fords factory Replacement fliter would rate decently.. The K&N was interesting too, albeit they are expensive when it comes to filter prices.

I dont consider any of them pricey....when you think about it in the long run....its all worth it. I've been using the Mobil 1 filter since the beggining due to it's being really accessible and around $11 for me. I've never seen the Purolator filter on the shelf anywhere around where I live.

Moons ago I worked for a Filter distributor. Maybe thats why I think so,e are pricey lol. As far as Purolator goes we have them out here I have not seen that particular one though. Truth be told most of my filter shopping for the last several years has been Bosch or Mehle because BMW drop in.
The Focus I just take to the shop and have them do there brand along with the synthetic its never more than $50 and with all the oil recycling requirements we have its easy to let them deal with it. If I bring my own filter and oil its $20

I'd question the filters they use....they use bottom of the barrel Autozone....O'Reilly or napa filters mostly to make some money....their filtration rate is in the low 90s like maybe 93% at best.

Are you talking about the Bosche or Mehle? The shop I go to I have been friends with for years. They do not use bottom of the barrel producrts at all, they are also not cheap for most customers. Our neighborhood is far from low rent low income these days ,lol.

They are also Sports car guys and are pretty picky as they use what they sell. They also own a few S30 240z ‘s one powered by a RB25DET Skyline engine with a big Turbo puts out over 500whp.
Besides owning a couple of Mercedes SL55’s. Lol
Not worried about that for the Focus at all. I will probably pick my own oil and filter for the ST.

I have been running the Royal Purple filter along with their HPS Synthetic oil. Love it. Just got two quarts of their Max Gear Synthetic for the tranny in the mail yesterday. Eager to see how it performs.

I think they left out the top contender In that article. In many years, I never would have used a fram filter but their new ultra synthetic series is where it is at right now. Put your preconceived bias aside and Do some googling. They are legit.

It seems to me to be on par with Mobil 1...Royal purple....Purolator....K&N ETC. All pretty much mush filter out at least 99% When I change my oil id get any of them if they were included with the oil. They are all good filters...its just like Levi's Vs. Wrangler jeans....some Fit different. [raceflag]
