I'm losing a sunroof and tinted windows but I'm starting to really dig the kona/black rim combo. Does the '16 come with sync3? I would love android auto.

Yes, it does come with Sync3.

I love my sunroof, but I could live without it, too. Just one less thing to go wrong. I feel that way about backup cameras, too.

Kona blue was only offered on the '16. It was also offered on the Mustang.

Some people don't like Kona blue, because it's a little purple. I think it looks boss.
That would be me , lol. It does not mean its not a bad color. I probably would have bought Performance Blue had it been available on a 18 or even Lightening Blue which they offered on 18 SE’s but strangely not on ST’s considered Magnetic too but once I saw Orange Spice in the Sunlight I was sold.

I'm sure he is. Thanks for oddly aggressive suggestion. Do you guys work as salesmen at a Ford dealership?

Lol what he basically means Is I have a habit of getting good deals and I wheel and deal to get better deals on cars and parts.
I have been in two businesses my entire adult life Cars and Music. I am not a car salesman but have bought and sold many. I have had Automotive businesses though. Cars I know I can inspect ato buy without having to take it to a mechanic to make a decision.
Though having a scan tool does help with newer cars.

I was just putting it out there as I don’t like to see fellow enthusiasts get screwed over and used car dealerships are the worst in that department. Lol

Ah..I'm not too picky about color. I like gray too which is called "magnetic," I believe. But I also like reds as well, honestly black is on the bottom of my list because it makes all of the styling of the grilles/aerodynamics get lost in lack of contrast. When I saw the tuxedo in person I really enjoyed it, very sparkly.

That's cool. More experienced/knowledgeable people in anything are a good thing in my book. My options are limited at this point. When the new one gets in it would be cool to meet up and you could help me kick the wheels. I get one more trade if this one is a dud too.

Nice....I don't mind trading the sunroof for something I'll get more use out of, like sync 3.

That's cool about kona. Feels more special now. Hopefully this one will be perfect and I'll be done!

Quick question. Does the 2016 FiST with Sync 3 come with "smart" usb chargers? If so, will they "quick charge" an Android phone? Normally when I plug into a normal usb I get a standard charge but IRRC you can quick charge with 1-2 amps depending on voltage..I'm not super savvy with electronics. With it being auto adjusting, will it always send enough amps to quick charge? I won't have the replacement until Friday. I hope my question makes sense.

I use the usb's that are in my console to charge my phone when I'm driving and I have to say that it charges pretty fast so I would think they are using the same thing even in the 16's .

Hi guys new status report! I did not go with the blue FiST and stuck with the tuxedo 15. So...the long headaches of warranty issues and zero out of pocket expenses have finally gotten me out of the rental and into my fully functioning FiST. They were all easy fixes and all of the weird noises and check engine light are gone now. This car is a blast! I can't imagine getting too deep into mods. Definitely Spec-D smoked tails and TYC projectors with smoked headlight armor. Here's a few photos too!

that clanking noise that goes away when clutch gets depressed....thats almost certainly the dual mass flywheel failing. Pretty common issue IIRC

Yea..that's definitively what it is. But it can be easily covered up by low volume radio. Doesn't bother me.

The clanking when going over bumps was the front left break caliper. It actually came apart...while I was driving. It was scary but an easy fix.

The clang in the back was the rear spring off its perch.

The check engine was a bad waste gate actuator solenoid.

Now it's free of chunks and clangs and pulls consistently like a little fruitbat out of hell. Haha. ..I'm super happy with the car.

What do you mean by failing? I missed that part. Is it a powertrain warranty issue?

Brakes on the early builds are the devil. I had a front caliper fail and my rears seized due to lack of grease on slider pins. I would put a brake inspection on your list of things to do. Make sure those slider pins are greased and the brakes are in good shape.

Yep Ford will replace the dual mass flywheel under powertrain warranty but not the clutch. There's an issue with springs failing internally in the dual mass flywheel. Very common issue especially in early builds.

The pin came out on the front left while I was driving. They replaced it. Had the shop check all of the brakes... should be good for a bit. Thanks for the advise.. I'll keep an eye on them.

Good to know. I'll bring it back in soon to have them look at that. Thanks!

Oh how we weren't all there at one point lol.
Started off thinking a RMM would be enough, next thing you know you've got a new intercooler and AP3 wondering what you can pawn or sell for that turbo upgrade lol.

BUT congrats on getting a working FiST and welcome again.

Lol you're probably right...an intake, boomba dv, and exhaust would be nice too lol. I had all manual transmission cars up until the Prius I was driving for the past 3 years. Now it feels like I'm in a full blown race car lol. It'll be min before I need to accelerate any faster with a tune.

The good thing is there's plenty of aftermarket to choose from for this car so you'll never be short of finding something to fit your taste.

Before I had the Prius I had a 2012 Chevy Sonic LT w/ 1.4t and 6mt. That car needed help so I bought a Diablo Sport and a Bad News Racing tune...that woke it up for sure. But this car already kills that car with the tune. I also owned a Mazda6 sport, Jetta MkIV 1.8t, multiple honda preludes including the last version with the H22, I also had an old civic hatch with an LS motor swap with D2 coil overs (was a Honda guy lol). I've driven lots of other pretty fast cars but not crazy tuner cars.

This car is quickest thing I've ever owned and it is far from boring out of the box. Mods are fun but I'm super happy so far!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Just wait until you go big turbo. My car went from making about 175whp stock to 275whp on E30 now. Extra 100 hp really changes this little car. Its a riot
