I think that’s part of the reason a lot of people prefer a dizzy tune vs a stratified one, the power is a little more tractable. My stratified tune was fun but it was a tire destroyer. The dizzy one makes just as much power but in a more adult way. I still flip tunes on occasion but each time I go back to dizzy for daily duties. I’m wondering how much of your butt test (there has to be a better way of saying that) is more aggressive throttle mapping vs actual power. Remapping the throttle makes it feel like there’s a ton more power.
I have heard a few reports of this chip making the throttle more "sensitive", but im not so sure they are labeling it properly. Granted im no old hand at this but the company RaceChip also sells a throttle tuner they call the XLR, i wouldn't think they would risk their XLR sales by adding that kind of feature to their other chips.

I could definitely be wrong but my hunch is people are just feeling more low end tq. I can still tell there's turbo lag till somewhere around 2300-2500, but when it kicks in it hits like a truck now. But yea i do get you, a more linear curve makes the power come more gradually and less likely to out tq the tires.

I've always been a bit confused about the Dizzytune. Do I just purchase the Stage 2 Tune and then he'll email me asking about my mods? Or is it just an OTS tune. If I wanted to get a 93 Octane, and E30 tune, would I have to get Dizzypop for both? I've never had an Accessport (and still don't) so trying to piece the whole system together is a little difficult.
You order the tune then fill out a form with your mods. He sends you a map and does a log review to make sure it’s safe.

It’s the lack of log data that makes me worried for our superchippy friend here.

Yep, this exactly. The data log you get basically let's Dizzy tell you if the car is running the tune efficiently and safely.

I think lots of people's worry is from the fact that you could have knock and negative corrections(very bad to have when you're pushing the car harder) with no way to monitor if these are occurring.

Dude if i could i so would. I'd take my car in tomorrow for a bigger FMIC, and i guess a downpipe as i hear people mention those help with bigger turbos? But my wife is responsible and forces me to budget ..... But i gotta say, i don't know how people keep the rubber on the road, this evening i was driving some common fun roads and my god, even through 2nd the tires were constantly slipping.

Skill helps but the wonder of tuning makes a world of difference. In my opinion the biggest problem about our car is that in any power-modified form it has way more torque than traction. Dialing in traction control through the tune helps get as much power to the ground as possible resulting in actual acceleration instead of smoking tires.

To the OP, one thing you’ll come to grips with before long with your newfound torque is that you now have less traction and more torque steer, neither a good thing. Unless you want to roast your tires all the time, that is something to think about. Having all the new torque isn't much good if you can’t use it.

This is one great feature of being able to control traction. I made a video on this maybe a year ago, for anyone new to this idea maybe this will help:

Yeah I just ordered one of JDG's default "off" stock ESC modules. I don't trust the stock traction control either.

I've been playing around with the COBB AP TC slip multiplier and it's funny I was using your video as a tutorial ha.

One thing I've noticed is running the Federals and my set-up is I can't always tell that the tires are slipping. Pretty sure @Clint Beastwood said he didn't even know he was roasting his tires until he put a camera on his fender lol

I should be getting a fresh tune from JST on Monday for some recent changes I made and I'm really gonna start focusing in the TC multiplier. Pretty sure JST has custom multipliers as well but like you said I just need to play around with the settings first and get a feel for it.
