Rear Motor Mount

Hey Everyone,

I'm driving a 2019 FiST and will be doing a COBB Sage 1 tune next month.
Wondering if the stock RMM is adequate, or if I should go for the COBB RMM.
I read that they improved the stock RMM in 2016.
I could save $100 and just get the access port.

Thoughts?

I highly recommend getting a RMM asap with a tune.
Which brand RMM? Everyone has their preference, but in the end they should all do the same thing.

Yeah, get the RMM, tightens everything up and feels much better

The Cobb Stage 1 adds more torque to the motor which would probably lead to more motor movement. That’s why its included in their “Stage 1”. I use a Mountune RMM. But any brand other than stock would be better. Just don’t get one that is too stiff because you with get more vibrations in the car.

Okay, It sounds like good advice to upgrade, so I'll order the COBB Stage 1 package with the access port, RMM, and air filter. Thanks, guys for your input!

Better idea - get a whoosh RMM and a RamAir filter from Whoosh. Get a Accessport from Dizzy with his stage 1 tune. Save money - get a better tune.

Yes as he said above ^^^^. Check out what other forum members have done. Yes u need a RMM first. But if u buy a new Accessport, buy one with a tune included.. Or buy a used one.

If you're happy with how it feels now then you probably don't need it. I suggest finding a used AP rather than going with the Cobb 'stages.' Drive with the revised AP map and if you feel you need a rmm then, you can try to get a used one - they're occassionally listed for sale on this forum.

I think they have different versions. Make sure you get the right one. You should also check out their reviews.

Yeah, Ron at Whoosh is really cool. After discussing things a bit, I decided to go with the Vibra-Technics RMM, and RAMAIR air filter (he was out of stock on the Whoosh RMM). I found a local shop to do a pro-tune which will include the accessport for $850. It may be overkill to do a pro-tune at stage 1, but I'll be staying at S1 for at least a year while getting peace of mind. Plus, building a relationship with a quality garage is never a bad thing. A big thank you to everyone for your input! Peace.

Man, that’s a whooole lot of dough for a protune. You could get a lifetime tune from Adam at Tune+ for a similar price and just follow your upgrade path with your tune

I got the Cobb RMM and immediately I noticed more vibration especially when the AC is on, but after about 300-400 miles the vibration reduced dramatically, minimal vibration at idle and a bit but not as much before with the AC
