It would be nice if someone could develop a 4 port system which absolutely DID integrate with/'talk to' the factory ECM, but I guess that's just asking too much (or is it a programming/interface impossibility, given the encryption of the factory ECM?? [dunno]).

waaaaay over my head so it won’t be me, lol. I think with the hpfp’s out there everyone will go what route Now, though they are really pricey. I just ordered the whole sha-bang in a moment of weakness. Having thought about it a bit more I’m just not going to push for the limits so the S280 outta be good.

I've come to find out that rather going aux fuel, larger direct injectors with a higher volume HPFP, is the way to go. The Mustang that I currently have has DI and port injection. The port kicks in when the DI can't handle the fuel volume at WOT. A Mustang forum member has been data logging how the bigger DI combined with a higher volume HPFP affects the car.

The DI has a better cooling effect in the combustion chamber and by having the DI system handle all of the fuel requirements under WOT, knock is significantly reduced and the ECU doesn't pull timing. So, even though the bigger DI injectors and HPFP are more expensive, the power gains from the DI, is preferred over port and no secondary ECU is required.

IF I ever go the S280 route I will MOST DEFINITELY go with the larger DI injectors/higher volume HPFP, that's not even a question. [wink] [thumb]

I was just thinking of the valve tops/chamber cleaning effects of the 4 port, although many on here seem to claim that is either very very marginal in it's scouring efficacy, or that our DI setup is such low carbon buildup in the first place that it is not even needed. [dunno]

Yea I don’t disagree, but (I say this now, having bought the S.P) I dont want to push the reliability envelope. I’d rather have a few extra hp and feel like I’m not pushing my luck or rolling the dice ;). If I spent two grand on the HPFP I would want it to deliver and I’d be pushing it.

I can fully understand and appreciate that philosophy/logic. [thumb]

But even if I went with the DI upgrade, I would tell the tuner to limit the ultimate/top end boost to like 28 PSI OR LESS, in order to have that fueling 'safety/reliability headroom' factor, "waste of coin", or not. [wink]

Keeping the intake valves clean is just a matter of periodically using an intake valve cleaning spray of your choice. Unless you are going WOT all the time, the aux fuel isn't coming into play all the time.

When I took my aux fuel system out around 18K, the intake valves were relatively clean, also I didn't have a catch can.

I had a can of CRC, that I was going to use at my next oil change. But I gave the can away to a fellow that purchased some Fiesta parts from me.

yea, agreed. I had that very conversation with Jason (Dizzy). I was asking with 340 or so without the crazy boost levels. Some of these dudes pushing 30+...respect man, but damn, lol. I dunno, if the aux don’t sell I may end up installing it. It would be used rarely versus all the time to reduce risk of a mechanical issue. The occasional call out lol.

Car looks great. How are the lights with the smoke tint at night? I've used smoke Lamin-x on previous cars with factory HID and wanted to do the same with the fiesta but worried about nighttime performance with halogens.

Have a set of Euro lights that were going to have clear film applied before swapping them in but after seeing your car I may go with the smoke lamin-x again.

We're they a pain to apply with how long and curved Fiesta headlights are?

Ya I had that moment of realization after studying more. Now I am wondering what kind of numbers larger injectors and DI would do with 91. For now I am on a 91 tune with S280.
Of course I would have to retune for the larger injectors and HPFP because more fuel would be at my disposal.

Thanks man. I love the fist but the flipping headlights are Yuuuuge. I put the lamin-x to make them a bit more subtlewhen I had about 2k miles on the car. The light is just fine for me, I really don’t notice any reduction. I have had a lot of old hot rods, some running generators, so I have had far, far worse lol. The headlights were really easy to do, I didn’t even need to take the headlights out. The taillights...well, that’s another story...they were $]£]_[…<er.

Here she sits after the addition of the Delta riser and Spec-D tail lights. Waiting on new wheels to arrive, pic's updated after install. Currently on revision 4 of the big turbo pump gas tune and we are snowed in so I can't get out to data log. This car is just a BLAST to drive.

Seeing this makes me glad I grabbed a magnetic. This looks clean and sharp. Have the spec d waiting for spring to install. I'll have to look into that riser. I have been eyeballing an expensive carbon ebay wing that my better judgement tells me to avoid.

The delta fits exceptionally well - it's a quality piece.
