**EDITED THIS POST AFTER RUNNING THE E30 TUNE IN COOLER WEATHER, WHICH IS APPLES TO APPLES WITH THE 93 TUNE LOGS**

I've been experimenting with different tunes on my 2017 Fiesta, which is stock other than a Whoosh V3 intercooler, panel filter, colder plugs gapped to 0.28, and swift lowering springs. The car has 27,000 miles and has been very well cared for. So far, I've run the cobb stage 1 93 tune, dizzy stage 1 93 tune, dizzy e30 tune, and mountune 93 tune (the one you can buy off their website for $99, or comes free with an AP purchase).

I have to say, I am blown away by the Mountune 93 tune. I was having some issues with negative corrections on the other 93 tunes - nothing major, but consistently -1.5-2.5* on third and fourth gear pulls. Even though they aren't a big deal, they make me nervous. So I figured I'd load up the Mountune 93 map and try it out. Not only did it feel like it pulled harder, but I also saw ZERO negative corrections no matter how hard I pushed the car (or how hot it got). I think this tune is slept on and one of the best you can buy for 93. I believe it was developed in concert with Ford given their partnership, so perhaps they are able to work some extra magic with things like valve timing or something complex. It doesn't make sense to me that they are able to run more boost (25 psi) and fairly aggressive timing, yet get ZERO knock and ZERO negative corrections. While it's not as fast as the E30 tune, it pulls very hard. I would note that I got zero negative corrections with the Dizzy E30 tune as well - so it seems like my engine is equally happy with it.

I had ChatGPT plot out my third gear accessport logs to compare the three tunes:

By the way, it's the tune below (I selected 93 octane), NOT the Mountune mTune (which I believe is a much more conservative, warranty friendly tune). I have no idea how the latter tune performs.

https://mountuneusa.com/products/mountune-optimized-accessport-calibration-fiesta-st

What's nice is that it plays nicely with all of the accessport features, so you can adjust things like launch control RPM, FFS, redline, and traction control on the fly while you drive from your AP. You aren't locked into anything.

Looking at their dyno plot, the tune makes 196/266 wheel hp/torque. Assuming 15% driveline loss, that's 230 crank HP and 312 crank ft/lbs. So over 100 ft/lbs (or 50% gains) vs stock. I absolutely believe those numbers based on how the car pulls. The car is profoundly faster than stock and really pins you into your seat. It's very smooth too, although the throttle pedal is more sensitive than I'd like. No pops/bangs/burbles at all, if that matters to you.

I got a custom 93 tune from Tunewerks (mountune's original tuner, Randy Robles). It was the "conservative" tune for an aftermarket intercooler. It stomps. 210/276. Torque for days.
When I was traveling out west, I got mountune's 91 tune, and I have to say, it feels pretty close to the 93 tune.

I like their stuff. It really pulls at highway speeds, too.

That's a really good deal for such an impressive tune. I have their MP215 tune which I really like a lot, and which I got when the car was fairly new because it preserved the warranty. Even though the warranty's over, I like it so much that I have kept it.

Well, will see how this goes, just ordered. Hopefully this is a good interim until I can ever get time to install the S280...

That said, was on some very tight mtn roads this past weekend - super fun roads 15-50 mph - and it had me wondering is the S280 would degrade that experience due to lag vs OEM. That got in my head, had me wondering if I should have ordered the hybrid.....MEH.

I am in the EXACT same boat. I have an itch to go big S280 because I love modifying things. But after feeling the mountune and dizzy e30 tunes I am wondering if it will ruin the playful/accessible/immediate character that makes the car so wonderful. Really torn!!!

Well, turnaround time was quick, about 3 hours to get the file after payment.

Loaded it few minutes ago, was on the Cobb Stg1 93, so will see how different it is. Car is stock otherwise. Wonder if this tune will benefit materially from parts? I have read the dizzy evaluations, so prob 10-ish more on the table.

I am avoiding big turbo on my other car for the same reasons, moves the boost threshold too far up, so ends up being like old turbo 4 bangers - laggy. ALL THE POWA - for 2k rpm....meh.

keep me posted - curious to see how you/others like it. Yes agreed - the strong low/mid range torque hit is such a big part of what makes the fiesta special. Having all your torque down low isn’t great for performance at the track, but it’s very fun for back road rips and making trips to the grocery store feel like rally stages. It’s why the fiesta feels faster than much faster cars.

The torque pull is immediate, and it makes the car pull itself out of corners like no other car I've driven, other than a 60s-70s big block.
Of course, the big block cars of that era didn't handle well.
The FiST does.

It's probably the MP-215 tune or close, Ford was very involved in that tune as they had to warrant it for 3 years, try some non-alky 93 and feel the power in 3rd gear. The MP-215 pulls like a train on all gas and I have multiple stations that sell it here. It was the re-map on the MP-215 that changed the whole torque curve and set the engine free. I have never been on a tight twisty curvy run where I thought I could use more power. It was perfect in 2016 and still is for me. I believe it is the epitome of small hot hatches in the USA. I also believe the MP-215 power is actually in the 225-230 HP range on 93 non and after 9 years of annual 3-6K mile summer road trips I am still in absolute love with it cross country or D/D.

I think it’s stronger than mp215, which sounds like it peaks at around 23 psi. With this tune I see 25 psi. It really rips.
