Engine running poor after timing belt

Yeah I did that first. I used it and ForScan to watch for misfires but none occur. It’s probably good. Probably.

Looks like I’ll be re-timing my car. Something is definitely incorrect even though I don’t see codes. Boost levels are normal but I was 10mph and 5 seconds a lap slower yesterday than I was on similar (weather) days over the last three years. It stalled after it cooled down when I was putting it back on the hauler too. It must be an issue with how the procedure was done. I can’t think of anything else..

Id try to insert the timing pin, flywheel lock and the cam bar tool to see if its all in time prior to yanking the belt and TTY bolts. Document that it is off prior to having JST retime the motor so there is no pushback.

As I suspected the timing is off. The logs from this morning on cold start showed VCT-I Angle pinning at -41 sometimes. It was definitely off. They’re putting it back together and I’ll pick it up next week.

Man.. After correcting it the tool doesn’t line up again after the engine is turned over twice. It’s like the belt is stretched a bit but I have no idea why that would happen.

It was a bad tensioner from Ford. Replaced it and alls good.

Yeah man. I had a DOA slave and now a DOA tensioner from Ford. Crazy.

I was thinking, I have had a dip on 1st start of the day....If u rev it a bit the RPMS dip below idol which seems to be around 800. I haven't pin pointed it BUT I have also had once a hard time fueling up and another time rough start up after fueling... Could be a purge valve or canister valve solenoid . Uummm... I'm not sure maybe the time is off a tooth or 3 and its retarded?
EDIT: I forgot to read through the rest of this thread .. I see we found the issues!
