Anyone tried the new Indy 500 V2 tires yet? I am getting a set installed on my Dekagrams next weekend to replace my ancient BFG Comp 2s

I nearly bought a set a few weeks back, but decided to try the Kumho Ecsta Sport. From what I could tell, the V2 makes some small improvements on the original tire in pretty much every aspect, which is a good thing. I'm sure you'll enjoy them quite a lot.

I did find it odd they only come with 8/32nd tread new. Surely this is for reduced tread squirm and better response, but it's gotta hurt treadlife a bit given that everyone else in that ~300TW space is 9/32nd or more.

Only had em for a day now but I like them a lot so far. Yea I didn't notice that tread life thing until after I saw them in person...oh well

I have a set in 205/45/16r and was able to do 50 miles at the Nurburgring to "break them in" if you will. lol they are super grippy and the tread life looks like its on track to last a while. i had the v1s and was able to drive from NY to LA and back 3 times on top of daily driving them for nearly 2 1/2 years.

This was taken after the track day and about 350 miles total on them. still had remnant's of the sticker even

How would you rate V2 grip on the track in comparison to V1? I'm on 200TW now but considering trying 500s again.

How is the quickness of the turn in and the agility of the handling on the V2? I had the V1 and found it lacking in those areas, I thought it was kind of mushy and vague in its steering response.

I didn't really track the v1's but I did take the car on Angeles Crest Hwy in SoCal and they handled that well. Plus many backroads in WA state and grip was never really a concern unless it got below 40F. I am eager to see how these hold up in the long run and once some serious rain hits Bavaria, I'll report back on the handling compared to V1's.

To be honest from being fully stock at the V1's and now for the V2's I have added better suspension, track/ brace bars, LSD, and a tune that It currently handles better with the V2's but that data is skewed. It could be that they really are that but better but I cant say for sure. Even these back roads in Bavaria, I have had no issue on turning response and grip with the V2's.
