Hi has anyone else had issues with leaking oil from the oil pressure sensor ?
I had an engine management light come on, so I went to the garage and they plugged it into the diagnostic machine which came up with oil pressure sensor
So they replaced the oil pressure sensor but the engine management light still comes on even after clearing the code
It looks like oil is seeping out from where the wires come out of the oil pressure sensor and it looks like the oil is proceeding up the wire and possibly into the ecu
Anyone else had this problem?

Hi - Yes, unfortunately I have had the same issue. I had the oil pressure sensor replaced, which did not fix the problem. I also had the oil pressure solenoid replaced, which again did not solve the problem. They now seem to think oil has been leaking from the oil pressure sensor and into the ECU. They are saying that it needs to have the wiring loom and ECU replaced. Luckily I have warranty on the vehicle which all parts are covered. However i am not entirely convinced that this will fix the issue. It seems rather extreme to be replacing the ECU and the full wiring loom. The work has not been carried out yet, as they are waiting on the parts to be delivered. So, at the moment I can’t comment on whether this will be solved or not.

Unfortunately it is still on going.
It has been back and forwards to the dealers for investigation over the last 6 months and they couldn’t find the issue. I’ve had 3 oil pressure sensors changed, an oil pressure solenoid. Which still didn’t solve the issue.
I then had a full wiring harness and new PCM fitted, as they said there was oil leaking down the wiring and into the PCM. All was golden for a few months and then the engine warning light came back on around a month ago.
So off it went back to the dealers, where it is currently. It’s been there for 4 weeks. The latest investigation is that metal particles where found in the oil and they aren’t too sure where it is coming from. They rang me 2 weeks ago and told me…. Wait for it….. That they are putting a new engine in!
The latest is, that we are now waiting for Ford to make a contribution to the warranty company towards the replacement engine. Thankfully I took out extended warranty on the car, otherwise it would be a very costly job. All the other work carried out up to this point has been £3000-£4000. A new engine is estimated to be somewhere in the region of £10000! 😬
