Almost 200,000 miles now this? Code U012D

It's been a while since I visited as life has taken over, 2017 ST, 198,000 miles, my daily driver for 6 years and I drive 50 miles each way to work 6 days a week. Whoosh stage 2 tune for 5 years and no problems, replaced the alternator about 2 years ago and yesterday I got this code U012D, battery light on and Accessport says it's an lost communication with generator control module? It Idles fine but as soon as I move the entire dash go's dead, no head light's, no electric assist steering. and no gas pedal? HELP!!!!! Has anyone had this issue and solved it? COOP

I put a new battery in it Sunday afternoon, idles just fine and charging between 13.5volts - 14 volts depending on the voltage needs but as soon as I drive the car even it the driveway I loose all dash and radio, lights and everything electrical?

Did you do a battery reset procedure after replacement?

Is that this -

---> Turn the ignition on, but don't start the engine

---> Turn the headlights on

---> Pull the high beam stalk five times in a row (not by blipping it - you must fully engage it making sure the blue high beam indicator is turning on and off)

---> Depress the brake pedal three times in a row

---> Finally, watch the battery indicator blink three times indicating that the BMS successfully has been reset.

I did reset all codes with my Accessport but I'll try this and see if it helps, thanks. COOP

So just to update this thread the problem was a bad alternator, shop wanted $1200 to replace it!!!! I had it towed back home and replaced it myself, it did take over a week to get one delivered to the house.

My first drive and I have new code, P0627 fuel pump A control circuit open? So it sits for 2 weeks and the fuel pump is bad? Car is running fine with the code but I don't want it to just die somewhere and here we go again. I hope everything isn't going to start failing at 200,000 miles???? COOP

Circuit open may mean a plug is corroded or making intermittent contact. If the car is running fine even under full throttle the pump is obviously pumping. The control circuit controls the pump, i.e. switches it on and off and probably works with pressure regulator.

Sitting 2 weeks may have led to corrosion on the connection. 2 weeks is also long enough for the battery to weaken, and all kinds of things act funny on a FiST with a weak battery. Make sure the battery is fully charged, clear codes, and check to see if it comes back before doing anything else.
