Any Ideas on this knocking noise?

Recently picked up this 2019 with 47,000. Had all 3 motor mounts done and replaced with OEM. Had transmission fluid drained and filled with 2L Ravenol MTF-2. Knocking noise persist. Usually begins after car has warmed up. Can hear knocking noise when slowing down. Knocking starts between 10-15 mph. Can hear knocking when giving it little revs. Also, I’m pretty sure I can hear it while just driving but hard to tell over engine noise and other noises.

I just had a similar sound on my driver side and it ended up being my U joints in my front axle. But I was at 170K miles too... Replaced them just back in January.

Don’t think so. Only happens when the car is warmed up. No TPMS lights on the dash either. It sounds like a harder repair unfortunately!
Also, With you saying it only happens when warmed up, It could be an Exhaust hanger that is worn and with the heat could be allowing it to hit on something?

Thanks for your input! For the record I am not a mechanic at all. I actually just changed my first battery in my life today on the fiST. Did the purge valve as well and lucky for me it started back up! I did kind of shake the exhaust around before because I’ve read that’s a known issue but the car wasn’t warmed up at that point. Maybe I’ll get it warmed up and give it a shake again. It’s hard to pin point where the sounds coming from. Can’t tell if it’s coming from the gear box where i hear the regular clanking of the transmission or some where else. Sounds like it could be in the front right possibly. No idea. My next step I guess will be learning how to jack the car up and getting under it and shaking things around.

Saw/heard this earlier and really don't know what this is. Had a failed passenger side engine mount on mine and it made a clack sound on clutch release. The clue was excessive engine movement with the hood up, idling.

Thanks! The thing that sucks is I just had these mounts replaced. I did however replace them with OEM, so maybe going after market would have been better. Crazy the mounts are brand new and still causing issues. That’s why I was concerned it might be something else. The knocking on de-acceleration doesn’t seem to change whether or not I have the clutch in or out. Doesn’t seem to change whether I’m in neutral or gear. Can hear it knock real quick if I give it a little blip in 2nd. I just don’t see myself swapping out the mounts again less then a month later. Especially since I can’t do the work myself.

Did it make the noise before you replaced the engine mounts? If not, then they probably were installed incorrectly or are loose. Or something was left loose incidentally during the process.

It did make the same noise before the new mounts but I kind of think it maybe worse. It’s hard to be sure because we’re getting warmer weather now and the issue seems to arise after the car is warmed a good bit. Now it’s always warm because of the weather. I was kind of thinking I should have waited to see what it was like once spring and summer came. Is there a way to check this out might self? My guess is it’s the RMM. Sounds like it might be coming from that location.

A bad motor mount will be evident in the engine moving a lot while revving. A loose nut or bolt will be evident by putting a wrench on it and checking torque.
I’ll check the RMM first since that’s the easiest to get to and seems like where the sound is coming from. I’m no mechanic, so I have no idea about torque specs and what not. I think I did see the specs floating around here somewhere.

Does depressing the clutch while revving at a standstill in neutral have any impact on sound?

No, the knock occurs when I give it a little gas, just a quick hard blip (don’t really know how to properly describe it) in second typically. No knock when revving in neutral. No knock when revving in neutral when the clutch is depressed. When de accelerating knock starts when I get down to 10 - 15 mph. Having the clutch depressed has no effect on the knocking when slowing down. I came across a post on Reddit with someone having a similar noise. They ended up having their mounts and “axels” replaced. Claimed that the “axels” were the culprit for the noise. I asked the OP for a little more clarification on what they meant by axels but they haven’t responded. Could they mean CV axel? Thanks!

Thinking it might be something in the axels as well. Saw a post on Reddit with similar noise. They mentioned “axels” were the culprit. Not sure what they mean by axels though. I’m not a mechanic. I’m guessing CV axels since I’ve read that those are a failure point. Possibly a combination of both my motor mounts and axels.

I just listened to your video at work where my computer can go a lot louder. Are you talking about the very end of the video just before it stops, the low pitched thunk, thump thump? That does sound rotational. Even a little scratchy. Have you jacked the car up and turned the wheel? Inspected the brakes and brake shield for rocks stuck in there?

Can be heard most clearly between 7-10 seconds in, but you can pretty much hear it between 7-25 seconds. Unfortunately, I don’t have jack stands and a jack. Looking to purchase some soon and will look into the the things you mentioned. Thanks!
