The fact that you used the term "unbearable" to describe your gearing being different from OEM by way of overall tire diameter might suggest perhaps just a touch of OCD. I mean it only with the most respect.
Thanks for sharing the pic.
Still looking for a pic with the mentioned size on OEM wheels and driving characteristic feedback.
I don't have them yet but I will be running 215/45R17 for winter. They have been ordered (they need to be manufactured for fall). Once I have them I will snap pictures.
Living in michigan I have learned you really want to be small and narrow in the winter. You want rotation and as narrow as you can so you cut through the snow. Im no pro but im going to run a 185/ 60/15 on 4 steelies from discount tire 60 bucks each wheel. Winter tires are cheap in that size too. Like 30 to 40 percent less than say stock or a 215/40 series.

I run 225/40s for winter I think. Looked better than stock and didn't feel anything but better cornering response and feedback. I've found wider is better in winter to increase contact patch since I'm on ice or powder for the most part for 15 years now.

I'm running 215/45/17 on oem wheels and stock suspension. No issues or rub so far. 500 miles in. Hoping to get up to the canyons next week. Pictures coming soon

If I where willing to step up to a 215 40 I could do Z2 star specs on stock wheels. Just don't want it to feel weird. they actually only have a 1.3% difference over the stock tires. most the other sizes I checked where more difference than that so maybe Z2 star specs are where its at for me
