As the rear axle beams were updated somewhere around 2016 model year cars, has anyone examined the differences up close? Weight, dimensions, and perhaps some tortuously rigidity data?

In my 2015 ST I use softer rear beam from nonST Fiesta 2015.
The weight is 19,8 kg bushes incl., which is about 5 kg lighter than the ST rear beam.

I guess my question would be, why?

I have both (2014 and 2018 cars) and about to pull the 2014 to install aftermarket bushings... and remove the Pierce bar bolted in. Perhaps considering swapping out, from what I understand the ST200 came out with the newer square bars now used on the 2016 and up models. Square design seems heavier but I am probably not removing both just out of curiosity.
