Got fuel earlier, after getting a speeding ticket yay me, and after topping off with premium i was sitting at a stoplight waiting to turn and the car just died all on its own. Was idling normal then shut off and it showed a red lamp icon on the tach side of the cluster. Car turned right back on and didnt do anything funny the remainder of my 20 mile drive home. Scanned for codes and there were none.

Anyone had this happen before? Its a first for me.

Yes its happened to me before and I was told by my dealer its a common problem with Ford's capless fuel tank. Next time when you fill up the tank leave the nozzle in there for a few seconds before pulling it out and closing the fuel door.

It's happened to me too. Just last week actually. No problems with the car mechanical.

Happened a few times to me too. I also find that it sometimes idles a little rougher after a fill up. It seems to be better after leaving the nozzle in for about 5 seconds after the fill up pump "click" (as per the fuel cap instructions). Try that at the next fill up and avoid shaking out the last fee drops.

Who, me? Is this something that we should be more concerned of?

I ended up taking my car into the dealer this morning to see if they could replicated the "hiccups" during start-up.. Turn out it's a faulty vapor control valve. Part is on order so I will need to live with it for a bit.

Also mine has not had the issue since i started letting it sit for a bit longer with the filler nozzle in after fuel ups. All aces over here.
