1965 427 Shelby Cobra
1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4
1974 BMW 3.0 CSi

(Okay, I didn't actually own any of these, but they were my favorite cars in old Car and Driver road tests and of course they all had manual transmissions. Pretty much all the great classic cars had manual transmissions.
If I had about $40,000 extra dollars in high school, I probably would have bought them, and I'd be rich now if I still had them, except I would have actually wrapped them all around telephone poles.)

Only my very first car (a '66 Poncho LeMans 326 2 bbl. ragtop) had a slush box.

The rest ('69 Olds Delta 88 ragtop, 455 2 bbl, '3 on the tree', '76 'Black Cat' Capri 2 V-6 4 speed, '83 VDub GTI, '89 VDub GTI 16V, 2000 Z28 LS1 T56, and this car) were ALL row your own. [wink] [driving]

Great to see so many great MT cars in our past. A few peaked my interest...

2003 Civic Si
2004 Acura TSX
Is the 7th gen Si really as awful as everyone says?
Love the TSX, I had a 2004 as well, nothing like that engine revving after a few hardware mods. Hated to sell that one.

See above. Great car. It was the evolution of the 5th gen Prelude, and better.

1994 Honda Del Sol S/Si swap
Tell me about this car....I almost bought one a few months ago as a project, but walked since it only seated 2. Was very intriguing though.

1983 RX7
2007 350Z (I wish I kept this one)
Those old RX7s, great cars!
Tell me about the Z...I'm considering getting one some day as a beater project, I'm seeing them super cheap in decent condition. Had a few back in the day but they were Datsuns. The 370Z look amazing and has me interested.

1994 Toyota Pickup
2007 Honda Civic Si
Those '89-'97 Pickups with the 5spd and 22RE engine were extremely quick...that was the Celica GT-S engine, and in the truck it was even faster because it weighed nothing. They could keep up with Z28 Camaros back in the 90s...if you revved them to redline and shifted quick.

I've also been considering these as a project, except the reliability issues. I'd love to hear more.

08 Pontiac Solstice GXP
20 Honda Civic Si - currently own
These 2 caught my eye as well - as much as I've read that the Solstice/Sky is crap, I'm interested...how was that car?

Also the new Si - I'm reading great things. Are they as good as everyone says?

I'm gonna PM you about that 1991 Honda Prelude Si. I want an AWS version for a project.
Be wary of those, especially the 4WS ones...since I've joined the Prelude community I have learned that those cars are nothing but trouble.

1986 Jeep Comanche ( First car, learned to drive with it and it was a TANK!)
2001 Porsche Boxster S
2018 Fiesta ST

Almost bought a modified S14 Silvia while stationed in Japan, test drove twice and a sweet car but couldn't justify it in the end. Shifting with your left hand feels funny.

2nd manual here.

1994 Toyota Tercel 4 speed, no 5th gear overdrive. (bought in 2007, fun car)
2016 FiST* (very fun)

That said I didn't go into stick naked. I have been riding motorcycle for 11 years now. So, the first 'stick' I learned was motorcycle. Not that many care about my motorcycle history. But...

(All 6 speed)
1994 Kawasaki Ninja 500
2002 Kawasaki ZZR 1200
2006 Suzuki SV650S
2005 Honda VFR800
2007 Yamaha FZ1
2016 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR
2006 Kawasaki Concours 14
2017 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR
2007 Yamaha FZ1*

The 16 Tuono had a quick shifter for clutchless upshift. The 17 Tuono had quickshifter and Auto blipper for clutchless up and down shifts, with rev-matching on downshifts. These bikes were optional manual, I guess you could say. You really only wanted to Quick shift above 3000 RPMs (12,500 red line) and not recommended to clutchless downshift into first.

My Fiesta ST is my summer car. I'm in all automatics since 1995 other than the two mentioned. Honestly, I'm glad of it, as right now I have two jobs and the first job is rush hour both ways, the second job is rush hour to work, everyone's home on my way home from job #2. A stick with three out of four trips being rush hour would be doable, but grating.

I also have a CDL license. So I know how to drive stick with no synchros, a crawler gear, flipswitch for separate gears, and I trained on an 8 speed and a 10-speed.

How was the Genesis? Always thought the 1st gens looked cool.
I liked it a lot. I only had it a few weeks before I put a reworked turbo, injectors and tune on it. Had factory brembos all around, nice 19" wheels, lsd, was a really well equipped car for the price. I def like the first gens over the 2nd.

I learned on my dads '92 Miata back when I was 15 and frequently drove his '98 Corvette convertible. But Personally I only started driving manual cars daily very recent.

2007 Honda Civic Si
2015 Ford Fiesta ST

Will continue to have at least one manual car around while it is still around.

Love the TSX, I had a 2004 as well, nothing like that engine revving after a few hardware mods. Hated to sell that one.
I got mine when it was 10 years old with 120k miles. As soon as I got it I realized it needed new AC, clutch, stereo circuit board and one axle. I had a lightweight flywheel installed with the clutch and was surprised at how quick it was. But it broke down on me twice on the highway and I traded it in on the GTI after that.

Not at all, the Si was a lot of fun. People rag on it because it only made 160hp and was in desperate need of lowering springs.

Only 2 cars for me as I'm fairly young (24), never plan on buying an auto again:

2013 Mazdaspeed3 (almost paid off, massive blowby, stocked and traded)
2016 Ford Fiesta ST (current and only)

Had an auto before the MS3, the MS3 got me into modding cars. I had some mild bolt-ons and a tune and was making around 270hp/320tq, really fun car. I was working 60+ hours a week when I first moved to TX and didn't get to fully diagnose the car, had no time and the car wasn't being nice to me at all. Needed something reliable and the L3-VDT (2.3 DISI Turbo) has always been a finicky and temperamental motor. I would throw random CEL's, car would sputter and die for no reason at idle, 2nd gear popouts, weird driving when really cold and all sorts of fun stuff. Would buy that car back in a heartbeat if given the chance, misery loves company lol. The FiST is the first car I've really gone fully into (full bolt-ons, 27psi and e30), no regrets. Have more plans for the car. I've recently been looking into a real import like a JZX90, would love a manual but they are harder to come by.
