Center console lock light

Does anyone know if the lock light is supposed to turn off after a few hours? For some reason, I think that mine used to remain on until I unlock it; however, it now turns off after a while. I don't know how long a while, as I didn't time it.

I have a AP, not sure if that affects it.

I think after a few minutes after you lock it all the modules in the car (including that light) goes to "sleep" to keep from draining the battery completely down.

Mine is 100% stock, and the light doesn't remain illuminated indefinitely.
