It probably is different bulb type so no you'll need different bulbs, and might still not be "great" with an hid kit... Some halogen projectors don't work well with hids. These will be a great base to retrofit an hid projector.

Okay, so a good project to work on if I want to upgrade from stock housing/HID bulbs in the future. Perfect!
